Job Description

We are recruiting for a Deputy Manager to join our Specialist Family Residential Service in Sheffield. The service provides drug and alcohol recovery support for parents and their children in a residential setting.

Working 9 to 5, Monday to Friday and based close to Eccelsall Road/Sheffield Hallam Collegiate Campus area of Sheffield, it is easily accessible. Situated in a large Victorian Building, fully refurbished in 2022, there is free on-site parking as well and is also easily access by multiple bus routes. This managerial role requires crucial face to face time with the people you manage, however there is the opportunity for work from home occasionally.

You will be leading and directing the therapeutic and sessional team to ensure the efficient delivery of the family residential rehabilitation service with emphasis on supporting residents’ transition to independent living within their community.

About You

We are looking for an individual who enjoys bringing innovative ideas to life and is not afraid to take on new and exciting challenges.

To join us you will need:

• Knowledge of CQC expectations in a residential setting
• Experience of managing teams of internal staff in a substance use, health and social or mental health setting
• Experience or knowledge of working with families
• Experience or knowledge of working with individuals accessing substance use support/treatment
• Evidence of effective partnership working and the ability to network for the benefit of the individual/family and service
• Determined, with a drive to succeed and a willingness to learn
• Passionate and enthusiastic about making a real difference to the lives of people we support

The Role

You will ensure that service delivery is in line with recommended professional good practice and Phoenix Future’s policies and that the reasonable expectations of funders and residents are met. You will maintain a recovery-orientated approach to all undertakings and a demonstrable commitment to continued professional learning & development of the service. As part of the management team, you will deputise for the Residential Service Manager as required.

Your team will support the day to day running of the therapeutic community, ensuring resident’s needs are met and the best possible care is provided in an environment that promotes a culture of recovery in line with a recovery orientated system of care. Managing a structured programme which follows the Therapeutic Community method, specially adapted to suit a whole family support approach.

The role is a maternity cover for 12 months. The hours are full time, Monday to Friday 9-5, based at the Sheffield Family Residential Service, and you will be expected to take part in a on call rota to support the staff and service delivery. Flexible working can be considered.

Other organisations may call this role or similar, Programme Manager, Deputy Service Manager, or Deputy Residential Manager.

We are planning to interview for the role week commencing 27^th November. These will be face to face and there will be the opportunity for a full service tour.
