THE ROLE
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Rangers Football Club’s as a Deputy General Manager. This role will help deliver the success of the New Edmiston House development.
Opening in 2022, New Edmiston House is an incredible, state-of-the-art facility that will host a long-awaited club museum, a new two-storey Rangers Store and a fantastic event space for use on matchdays and beyond, thus enhancing the experience for supporters when they visit Ibrox on matchdays and increasing footfall on the Ibrox campus on a daily basis.
The Deputy General Manager will be at the forefront of ensuring Rangers delivers a best-in-class experience across its wide variety of events, including:
- Matchday events & experiences.
- Rangers Football Club seasonal events
- Concerts
- Corporate & Conferencing events
- Museum tours & events
Rangers Football Club compete in the SPFL Premiership, Domestic Cup and European competitions with between 25-30 fixtures and events per season hosted at Ibrox stadium. With the addition of New Edmiston House, Rangers Football Club are looking to expand their offering with the addition of Concerts & Corporate Events. High Profile music events are also set to be hosted at the stadium in 2022 and beyond.
The Deputy General Manager will help oversee all of the above activity and play a vital part in assisting Rangers Football Cub to support its fans and events to celebrate the Clubs 150 year history, whilst simultaneously helping shape its future.
KEY RESPONSIBILITES
- To play a pivotal role in the managerial team of New Edmiston House.
- Manage events & the wider New Edmiston House team to a high standard.
- To ensure that workflows within the department are of the highest standard and are continually reviewed and updated.
- To develop and maintain positive working relationships with all stakeholders and contractors. Including external contractors, promoters, & corporate clients.
- To develop and maintain positive working relationships with all Rangers Football Club departments to maximise the functionality of New Edmiston House.
- Diary Management of a modern, busy multi-purpose venue.
- Event & Concert management.
- To support the General Manager of New Edmiston House / Stadium Concerts in the booking, planning & operation of large-scale music events taking place at Ibrox Stadium.
- In collaboration with wider Rangers Football Club departments, manage Health & Safety requirements, Risk Assessments & associated paperwork. Ensuring they are continually reviewed & updated
- As part of your overall duties, you will liaise with most if not all of Rangers Football Club departments, including Commercial partnerships, Digital content, Marketing, RangersTV, Operations, Facilities & Operations, Soccer Academy, and the Football department, including the First Team, B Team, and Women’s Team.
GENERAL INFORMATION
- Given the nature of the business, this role includes working at both weekends and evening in accordance with the fixture schedule, concert bookings & events diary.
- Given the potentially high-profile nature of some of the activities associated with this role. A developed sense of discretion & confidentiality is required.
THE CANDIDATE
The candidate attributes include:
- Demonstrable successful background in multi-purpose venues, and the requirements thereof.
- Understanding of the UK Live Music Scene & Conferencing & Events in Glasgow/Scotland.
- Excellent communication & staff management skills. Collaborating, supporting & motivating others to be part of a happy and effective team.
- An ability to operate and manage multiple events concurrently.
- Comfortable with financial reporting, with an ability to understand & manage budgets.
- Personal License Holder.
- Eligibility to work in the UK, with enthusiasm for the live events & hospitality industry.
- A motivation to work in and help lead a genuinely exciting and rewarding events business.
