We are looking for a highly motivated Data Scientist, System Analytics to join our team!

 

The System Analytics group studies instrument and assay performance, generating insights to drive technology development and improve data quality.

You are a data scientist with experience in data analysis, signal processing, statistics, and machine learning techniques. Using these skills, you will solve problems, develop tools, and uncover drivers of system performance. The day to day will range from high-level analysis of trends across large numbers of experiments, to focused efforts developing a metric of interest for defect you’ve discovered. You will work on diverse problems, and choose the best approach to each, whether that be analytical modeling, machine learning, or Monte Carlo simulation.  You will collaborate with a small team of data colleagues, and a wide swath of scientists and engineers across the company.

 

How You’ll Contribute

  • Analyze, model, and interpret experimental data.
  • Form hypotheses. Test them with existing data if possible; if not, design experiments to prove or disprove them.
  • Develop and apply signal processing methods.
  • Perform regression analysis.
  • Translate findings into practical recommendations for improved system performance.
  • Communicate and collaborate with scientists and engineers from departments across the company.

 

Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, or other quantitative field.
  • 4 years hands-on data science/data analysis experience, working with scientific data.
  • Solid python skills, especially NumPy and SciPy.
  • Machine learning skills (clustering, PCA, linear and logistic regression, etc).
  • Strong foundation in statistics and probability.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with scientific data visualization is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Molecular Biology concepts is preferred.
  • Experience working with complex instrumentation is preferred.
