POSITION OBJECTIVE: 

The Data Coordinator supports the Donor Impact team by ensuring the integrity of all donor and gift information in both the donor database and customer relationship management (CRM) system as well as supporting other administrative processes and protocols to help the team meet its fundraising objectives. The exceptional candidate will demonstrate an understanding of organizational priorities, mission, vision, values, and strategic goals, as well as trust and teamwork in all aspects of Water For People business.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS & DUTIES:   

  • Ensure all information in donor-database records is current, accurate, and meets organizational standards by:
    • Accurately entering donor information and gifts with analytical comprehension (cash, check, credit card, wire, EFT, in-kind, stock, and online)
    • Linking gifts to proposals
    • Entering soft credits
    • Managing Campaign, Fund, and Appeal codes
    • Performing routine clean-ups according to data-hygiene policies
    • Providing support when errors and issues arise
  • Help ensure that all information flowing into and between the CRM (Engaging Networks) and donor database (Raiser’s Edge) is accurate
  • Support Donor Impact Team by providing lists and reports through RE NXT’s various data and reporting tools. This includes, but is not limited to, pulling and segmenting mailing lists for mailed solicitations and preparing recognition lists for the Annual Report.
  • Support the prospect pipeline, which includes:
    • Conducting research on identified prospects
    • Identifying current donors with greater capacity and referring donors to the major gifts team for assignment, initiating prospect research process
    • Generating reports to help identify opportunities within various donor segments
    • Coordinating third-party data screening and enhancement services, as requested, and inputting results into database
  • Manage relationship with state-registration vendor to ensure state registration documentation and campaign renewal forms are accurately completed and filed on time
  • Prepare donation acknowledgment letters in accordance with Water For People’s acknowledgment protocol
  • Work closely with the Finance Department to correctly code donations, resolve discrepancies, and reconcile the donor database and accounting system each month
  • Support data analysis to identify revenue trends and opportunities
  • Manage Donation email inbox, including providing customer support to donors and forwarding messages to other staff, when appropriate
  • Participate in local Water For People special events, as applicable
  • Other duties as assigned

EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience required
  • 2+ years of experience in development at a nonprofit required
  • 3 or more years of experience managing a relational database including querying and reporting required; experience using the Raiser’s Edge software strongly preferred
  • 2+ years of experience managing a customer relationship management system preferred
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook required. Advanced proficiency preferred
  • Excellent written and oral communication, with a high level of sensitivity for propriety and confidentiality

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS: 

  • Applicants based in the Denver Metro area are preferred, but remote US applicants will be considered with the exception of NY, NJ, VT, WA and CA
  • Candidates based in the Denver Metro Area may be required to obtain a Colorado notary commission within 90 days of employment
  • This is a non-exempt position

Salary Range:

Anticipated salary range: USD $22 – USD $27 / hour. Actual payment will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors.
