The Role

The Career Advancement Program (CAP) program requires a Part-time Instructor in data analytics through Grow with Google using the Coursera learning management system. The core subjects of this curriculum include basic office administration skills, designing, implementing, and coordinating data analysis projects, workplace professionalism, providing analytical support for accreditation and external regulatory agency audit activities, operational healthcare metrics, cultural competency, and customer service in healthcare settings. The instructor will provide job skills training to our clients over a course of 16 weeks.

Scope

Instruction

  • Manage and facilitate a supportive, purposeful, stimulating, disciplined, positive, and inclusive learning environment
  • Use a combination of methodologies to teach occupational skills such as communication, and customer service, to a diverse student body, preparing them for roles as a project manager in a healthcare setting.
  • Assist with distributing supporting materials (e.g., handouts, syllabus, reference guides) for learner use, assign, and grade projects
  • Responsible for developing lesson plans, PowerPoint presentations, classroom activities, assignments, a program competencies list for work-based learning, etc.
  • Administer student evaluations, record and track student progress using the Coursera learning management system, track and report attendance, and training completion
  • Work successfully with Coordinator II, Advancement Programs to coordinate instructional delivery and assess student needs.
  • Assess student skills, record student performance, and write a mid-term evaluation for each individual
  • Use new and existing curricula, applicable to different learning styles and abilities, to provide instruction based on core learning objectives
  • Maintain a high level of customer service at all times and for all stakeholders including participants, employer partners, and JVS staff
  • Communicate with Healthcare Program Coordinator and other appropriate staff and partners regarding student attendance, progress, and transitions to internship and career advancement
  • Participate in program evaluation and staff team meetings as needed; provide written recommendations for course enhancements and developments
  • Submit timesheets and other required documentation on a timely basis

Provide client with Instruction around the following topics:

  • Key analytic and statistical support for quality, clinical, and operational improvement activities. Includes effectively summarizing complex information into appropriate charts, tables, and figures in order to convey the meaning of the data to customers and decision-makers
  • Developing, preparing and distributing complex clinical and operational reports utilizing multiple data systems
  • Developing and providing support for relational databases, including reporting, design, and data management
  • Providing key analytic, statistical support and database management for accreditation and other external regulatory review, audit activities, disease management, provider profiling, case management, concurrent review, prior authorization, and other utilization and quality management functions
  • Providing project management for mid-sized projects

Student Evaluation

Preferred Competencies

  • Knowledge of standardized assessments, performance-based measurements, and other qualitative and quantitative assessment tools to measure student success and meet program outcomes
  • Healthcare information technology, Healthcare interoperability, electronic medical record, Meditech, Epic, medical reporting

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Data Analyst certification plus 2 years of recent data analytics experience or 5 years of relevant experience in data analysis or other related fields
  • 1+ years of experience in instruction to adult learners in a virtual classroom setting
  • Demonstrated ability to create and deliver lessons contextualized for workforce training
  • Expert level of skill with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, SQL, and Power BI tools
  • Demonstrated experience leading and managing projects, including long-term strategic initiatives
  • Demonstrated experience developing and delivering training programs

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience teaching/training and/or curriculum development in any of the following areas: Customer Service, Workplace Communication, Conflict Resolution, Problem Solving, Change Management
  • Healthcare organization/health insurer experience
  • Statistical modeling experience
  • Experience with WebEx, MS Teams or comparable tools
  • Previous experience in healthcare, HIPAA, and Osha compliance

 

Term

  • Early November to February
  • Compensation: $50 per hour
  • Funding: This position is funded through general operating funds
  • Hours:
    • Zoom classroom instruction: 34 hours total, two hours per week, once a week, in the evening,
    • Office hours: 16 hours total, one hour per week, once a week, in the evening
    • Lesson planning and curriculum development: 20 hours total as needed
    • Administration tasks and meetings: 10 hours as needed
