Job Description:
- The Cybersecurity Technical Writer will be responsible for updates to, modification of, development and in some instances, creation of specialized technical documents supporting GuideWell Cybersecurity Operations.
- Candidates must possess a broad, foundational knowledge of cybersecurity and/or technology controls as well as general Information Technology understanding.
- The position will be required to work independently, without close supervision, work under varying levels of pressure, deliver against aggressive schedules and be confident in driving discrete work items to a successful conclusion.
- The position will provide support and deliverables to internal cybersecurity teams (i.e. Cybersecurity Incident Response, Cybersecurity Monitoring, Cybersecurity Engineering, etc.) that will include work product available to business customer, assessors and external regulators.
Essential functions:
- Interview SMEs (Subject Matter Experts), Technical Lead/Architect, Product Owner, Business Stakeholders, to learn about the cybersecurity operations and technology in order to maintain the necessary set of technical documents needed for program readiness; including but not limited to, communication, on-boarding, training, technical layout, engineering and maintenance.
- Identify common user scenarios; apply critical thinking about types of information and delivery methods end users need to be successful; plan and design supporting user assistance.
- Gather/research/analyze required inputs and artifacts from SMEs (Subject Matter Experts), Technical Lead/Architect, Product Owner, Business Stakeholders, Threat Analysts, Security Administrators, Security Engineers, Cybersecurity Leadership and use that to design, develop and publish the identified set of technical documents. Coordinate technical and quality assurance reviews to ensure the quality of the deliverables.
- Manage distribution and review of documents for on-boarding, training and ongoing cybersecurity operational readiness.
- Enhance, maintain documents and manage distribution of documents on ongoing basis as the digital platforms’ features get enhanced.
- Perform functional role of Cybersecurity Business Analyst as needed.
Requirements:
- Strong technical writing, editing and proofreading skills
- Ability to organize and create smart structured digital content with embedded linked topics
- Strong written communication, oral communication, inter-personnel skills with attention to details.
- Strong analytical/problem solving and organization skills.
- Understanding of technical aspects of computer applications as it relates to the safeguarding and security of those solution – authentication, authorization, network security, endpoint security, data security, incident response and recovery, and more
- Highly self-motivated, independent and adaptable to learning and understanding new technologies
- Able to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks to meet aggressive timelines
- Must be able to present a portfolio of writing samples and/or previous work experience.
- Health care industry experience preferred
- Expertise doing technical analysis/documentation work
Required Experience:
- 3-5 years of related work experience or equivalent combination of transferable experience in Customer Service supporting internal or external customers
Required Education:
- Related Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, Information Systems, Cybersecurity or the equivalent or relevant work experience
