Full-Time Critical Care Transport EMT-Paramedic
Job Description
Job Responsibilities
- Reports to Medical Control Physician (MCP) and Nursing director of the transport program for the supervision and guidance in expanded role function.
- Collaborates with MCP as designated for medical supervision concerning the management of individual neonatal and pediatric patients during transport.
- During transport enters required documentation, computer entries and charges.
- Collects patient specimens following department/facility policies and procedures.
- Maintains inventory of equipment and supplies to optimize delivery of patient care and treatment.
- Assists with patient transport for testing, admission/discharge, inter-facility and aeromedical (per policy of department)
- Performs 12 lead ECG and places patients on continuous cardiac monitoring.
- Performs patient phlebotomy following department/facility policies and procedures.
- Provides wound care according to department clinical practice standards and acts as a resource to physicians and nurses to assist with optimum care.
- Performs all ADL in collaboration with nurses and physicians to assist with optimum care.
- Assists with department needs including medical procedures in the NICU/PICU and Emergency Department on request.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Education: High School diploma or GED equivalent
- Experience: Two years of practice as a Paramedic. One year previous ALS experience in pre-hospital (911) or inter-facility transport program. Specialty Care Training in pediatrics preferred.
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS and EMT-Paramedic
