 WHAT YOU’LL DO:

PRIMARY FUNCTION:   The Cradle Community Engagement Manager is responsible for managing and implementing community engagement strategy for Cradle Kalamazoo with a specific focus on RX Kids as well as implementation and administrative support of Cradle Kalamazoo (Maternal Child Health} community engagement and outreach activities at the YWCA Kalamazoo.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in human services, public health or related field preferred. Associate’s degree in human services, public health or related field required.
  2. Must pass criminal, child abuse and neglect, and sex offender background checks.
  3. Professional experience, preferably in family and community services, public health and/or health systems addressing health inequities
  4. Ability to plan and coordinate special events programming
  5. Experience with program development, community organizing, and program evaluation
  6. Proven success in developing and maintaining relationships
  7. Ability to multitask projects, manage multiple activities and complete work within tight timelines
  8. Demonstrated ability to organize collaborative systems, follow routines, and respond to change as needed
  9. Proficiency in word-processing and Excel spreadsheets required
  10. Demonstrated ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds

 PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES:

  1. Manages the Community Engagement strategy of the Rx Kids Program.
  2. Ensures the implementation of RX Kids is infused throughout the Cradle Network.
  3. Assists in the ongoing development of the RX Kids Strategy.
  4. Acts as a liaison between Kalamazoo and other communities who have instituted the RX Kids program.
  5. Develops, maintains, and evaluates day-to-day service delivery in coordination with collaborative partners, and Cradle Director of Community Health.
  6. Assists with the oversight of community events such as Community Baby Showers, Cradle Reproductive Health Education and Safe Sleep events, including implementation and evaluation.
  7. Manages the Northside Best Babies Zone including national correspondence and evaluation, strategy, activities, projects and contracts with partners.
  8. Supports capacity building of community outreach at non-traditional locations within neighborhoods with the highest rates of infant
  9. Identifies and coordinates parent liaisons to support outreach, health education, and resource referrals.
  10. Works cooperatively with Cradle Kalamazoo staff/contractor(s) toward continuous program, service and administrative
  11. Works with community members to examine social, economic, cultural, safety and health system factors associated with fetal and infant mortality in a collaborative
  12. Coordinates Cradle Kalamazoo Health Equity Committee.
  13. Coordinates Cradle Kalamazoo Clinical Equity Committee.
  14. Works closely with Rx Kids partners to ensure the program is streamlined and community goods are being met.
  15. Prepares and reports on proposals, including compiling required statistics, data and support materials and evidence-based model statistics.
  16. Complies with applicable local, state, and federal licensing requirements/certification and/or regulations.
  17. Complies with Association policy regarding required reporting of child abuse, neglect and exploitation.
  18. Attends all team and staff meetings, participates in collective team and agency efforts, and complies with all YWCA Kalamazoo policies and practices.
  19. Remains flexible and manages changing priorities on a continuing basis.
  20. Knows and adheres to Association policies, procedures, and practices.
  21. Safeguards confidential information gained because of the position.
  22. As a YWCA employee, projects a positive image of the Association and its programs to the community.
  23. Works cooperatively with program participants, YWCA staff, and volunteers.
  24. Other duties as assigned.
