Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Counseling and Case Management
- Conducts individual and group counseling sessions; assist patients in formulating treatment plans and goals; perform case management services.
- Conduct crisis intervention; intervene and de-escalate crisis situations with patients; assess risk of harm to self or others and arrange needed resources
- Counselor conducts and documents weekly family contacts, including continuing care recommendations and progress updates.
- Supports patient and family engagement in Ashley Family Services.
- Develops and delivers patient educational workshops as assigned.
- Develops an individualized Continuing Care Plan with each patient working collaboratively with the interdisciplinary treatment team.
- Provides excellent internal and external customer service, including referents.
- Conducts meet and greets with patients and their families.
- Demonstrated ability to plan and use effective therapeutic interventions and counseling techniques.

DESIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Certified as an Alcohol & Drug Trainee (ADT), with at least 6 months of experience required.
- Must be able to speak and write clearly. Basic mathematical skills required.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office to include Outlook, Word and Excel.
- Able to interpret educational material, assessments, and treatment plans so that patients understand contents; able to probe and draw out thoughts, feelings, problems, concerns and fears of the patient.
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
- May need to work untraditional work hours such as weekends, evenings, observed holidays, and nights.
- This is an essential or critical position which will require reporting to work as defined by the business needs of Ashley, Inc.
