Job Description
We have an exciting and rewarding new opportunity for a Counsellor – Residential Rehabilitation to join our innovative Enhanced Therapeutic Community Residential Service in Oakwood, Derby. This service is brand new and features on-site bedrooms with en-suite, gym and parking.
This new role is an excellent opportunity for the post holder to develop their practice around addiction and complex needs to support people within a residential rehabilitation setting. Working as part of Phoenix’s residential rehab team to deliver enhanced mental health support to people with co-existing mental health and addiction needs.
Your Role
- To provide support for people with their recovery from drug or alcohol misuse through 1 to 1 counselling and group work.
- The post holder will also carry out strength-based assessments, and work with individuals to create care plans, and promote visible recovery.
- The post holder must work as part of a multi-disciplinary team made up of Therapeutic workers, Nurse’s and support staff.
- The post holder should be a qualified counsellor with BACP accreditation.
- They should have good office IT skills and be used to working in the substance misuse field or similar.
- The post holder will be experienced managing a case load, engaging in partnership working and delivering CBT based interventions.
- Provide supervision of academic placements ensuring that trainees acquire the necessary skills, competencies and experience to contribute effectively to good mental health care and to contribute to the assessment and evaluation of such competencies.
- You will be able to utilise theory, evidence-based literature and research to support evidence-based practise in individual work and work with other team members.
