POSITION SUMMARY 

Corporate Engagement Coordinator (CEC) cultivates individual and corporate investments in UWSL through year-round management of corporate sponsorship and workplace giving portfolios as well as coordinating corporate volunteers to support community-wide UWSL and Promise Partnership events.  The CEC will work to support the Corporate Engagement Manager and Vice President of Donor Engagement to increase revenue from all aspects of corporate partnership by finding deeper alignment with corporate philanthropic values and further positioning UWSL as experts in community investment and employee engagement. Promotes and executes large-scale, community-wide volunteer engagement opportunities and plans smaller volunteer events for a portfolio of corporate partners, both of which effectively support UWSL’s mission and goals and increase participants’ affinity for UWSL. This role plays a key part in creating impactful experiences and deeper alignment with corporate philanthropic values, further positioning UWSL as an expert in community investment and employee engagement.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Employee Workplace Engagement: Giving Campaigns

  1. Articulate UWSL’s mission and vision to diverse company and community audiences through workplace group presentations and individual conversations
  2. Project manage workplace giving campaigns for portfolio of corporate partners, collect and record campaign data, evaluate results and proactively propose recommendations and improvements
  3. Share data with individual engagement team members to use in recruiting new donor network members and in transitioning campaign donors to long-term United Way of Salt Lake donors.
  4. Represent UWSL by attending industry functions such as association events, chambers, and conferences to cultivate relationships with key corporate decision makers.
  5. Maintain appropriate and consistent communication with new and existing corporate partners, prioritize customer experience by responding to donor/partner requests accurately and in a timely manner.
  6. Provide corporate partners with training and support to engage their employees year-round in giving campaigns, calls to action, sponsorships, and volunteer opportunities
  7. Maintain detailed records and reports in Salesforce to develop accurate forecasts and track progress

Volunteer Program and Event Support

  1. Assist with executing volunteer engagement events for corporate partners that are

aligned with their interests and UWSL’s mission.

  1. Coordinate donation drives and in-kind efforts with the Promise Partnership team that benefit UWSL’s community schools and partners.
  2. Utilize Golden software to post and track volunteer sign-ups for UWSL signature Year of Action volunteer events and activities (Read Across America Day, Stuff the Bus, Day of Caring) and work with the Data Insights Manager to ensure data is accurate and complete in Salesforce.
  3. Collaborate with Corporate Engagement Manager to support content for Impact Newsletter/Volunteer Newsletter and General Volunteer Communication.

Corporate Partnership and Sponsorship Development

  1. Assist with implementing new strategies and best practices to strengthen resource development results for volunteerism via conversion to new individual donors, increased corporate gifts, employee giving campaigns, grants, event sponsorships, in-kind donations, and more
  2. Cultivate and oversee authentic relationships with current and prospective corporate donors and community organizations with strong executive-level attention through personal contact, including phone calls, email, and written correspondence.
  3. Assist with follow-up on special event sponsorship proposal submission and stewardship, including sponsorship benefit fulfillment.
  4. Accurately record all donor-related activity in Salesforce.
  5. Support new business prospecting, networking, and engagement with the Corporate Engagement Manager and Vice President of Donor Engagement.
  6. Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES

  • Understands facets of job, aware of duties and responsibilities, keeps job knowledge current.
  • Ability to establish, cultivate and steward strong relationships with donors, potential donors and stakeholders to build and maintain lifelong partnerships and trust with UWSL.
  • Ability to develop and execute fundraising/workplace giving strategies and plans that integrate into the organization’s mission, priorities and goals.
  • Ability to understand and adapt to different situations and dynamics effectively. Applies personal and professional experience, abilities, and resources to achieve goals.
  • Demonstrates integrity, accountability, and efficient stewardship of UWSL resources and funds.
  • Understands marketplace, works to meet prospect/donor needs, effective closing technique.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 1-3 years of sales, project or relationship management experience, fundraising experience preferred
  • Proficient at Microsoft and Google Suites – proven skill in Excel
  • Experience with CRM (Customer Relationship Management) software; Salesforce preferred
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree or relevant experience

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The team member is regularly required to communicate clearly, in oral and written formats, with others in person, over the phone and via other devices. The team member must be able to transcribe, take in new information, prepare and analyze data and figures, constantly operate a computer and other standard office machinery. The team member is required to regularly travel to offsite locations to set-up presentations and displays in physical and electronic mediums. The team member must have the ability to lift, carry, push and/or pull objects weighing up to 50lbs.

The employee is required to work primarily in-person, in our UP offices during core business hours Monday – Thursday, with the option to work remotely on Fridays. Utah’s Promise is currently piloting a 36-hour work week with Friday afternoons off.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

The position is a full-time, exempt position with full benefits. $35,000-63,000. Salary commensurate with experience. UWSL/UP provides a wide range of benefits, including:
