Full-Time Corporate Communications Manager
Job Description
As Corporate Communications Manager, you will be the primary person with responsibility for all aspects of the communications function and associated staff and resources.
Communications is vital to the Council’s success. We need to be bold and innovative, develop existing audiences and reach new audiences as well as encourage positive behaviour change.
This brings with it challenging targets to reach as well as exciting opportunities to explore. From traditional press relations to developing evidence-based marketing campaigns to building our social and digital influence, this role requires a passion and energy.
This is a highly influential role providing strategic communications and engagement direction for the Council.
We require a strong candidate who is a true original. A creative dynamo and inspiring leader with boundless imagination and a tidal wave of fresh ideas to help us work with both internal and external audiences.
You will develop a compelling Communications Strategy for the Council, which inspires everyone who comes into contact with our organisation – from current staff, residents, communities, businesses and partners to neighbouring authorities and the wider world.
You will provide advice to senior stakeholders, including Cabinet members, the Chief Executive and Strategic Leadership Board members on critical communication issues.
You will be managing a high-performing communications service, and ensuring the Council conveys positive and engaging messages that raise the profile of the organisation with residents, stakeholders, and colleagues.
