We are looking for a Copywriter. THIS IS A REMOTE ROLE. The Copywriter is responsible for working on a variety of projects engaging with cross-cultural and multicultural audiences, with a specific focus on Black/African Americans. To be successful in this role, you should have excellent writing skills and experience developing advertising copy across multiple channels (print, radio, social media, etc.). Ultimately, you will ensure we maintain a strong online voice and brand consistent with our marketing goals. Experience with government or public health campaigns targeting multicultural audiences is a plus.
What you will do:
- Interpret creative briefs to understand project requirements
- Brainstorm visual and copy ideas with other members of the creative team
- Adapt the points from a creative brief into clear, persuasive copy that can resonate with African American and other multicultural audiences
- Develop copy for different creative formats (print ads, radio spots, television, social media posts, etc.)
- Modify copy per feedback from creative team and client
- Oversee the final production of copy for creative assets
- See projects through the whole creative lifestyle, from inception to deployment
What you bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Marketing, or Communications
- 4+ years of experience as a copywriter in the advertising industry
- Ability to speak to African American and other multicultural audiences
- Aware of current copy/messaging trends and standards
- Comfortable with numerous critiques/revisions
- Comfortable working alongside a creative team in a fast-paced environment
- Able to provide expertise when it comes to literary problem-solving
- Demonstrated time management skills
- Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills
