Job Description:
The Coordinator for Federal & State Reporting will be responsible for extracting, analyzing, visualizing, and reporting a wide range of institutional data for use internally and externally. Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs and residing in the Office of Institutional Research & Effectiveness (IRE), the coordinator will prepare data internally for strategic decision-making and externally for informational and official reporting to state and federal agencies, as well as other external organizations as assigned. This role requires a strong ability to coordinate with different departments and stakeholders to ensure submissions are accurate and punctual.
- Complete state and federal reporting requirements through data collection and analysis characterized by compiling various data sources and creating/using relational databases from various campus departments.
- Develop procedures and coordinate efforts to facilitate data collection and retrieval through efficient use of technologies for the operation and reporting of the State databases.
- Coordinate the analysis and evaluation of data to validate reports provided by the State.
- Prepare college accountability reports according to documented requirements.
- Serve as a liaison between IT, IRE, and other data owners to ensure efficient processes and reporting.
- Serve as IPEDS keyholder, managing and coordinating all aspects of data submission at the institution.
- Monitor the overall integrity of data, complying with state and federal requirements and taking appropriate steps to correct data discrepancies if applicable.
- Attend Management Information Systems Advisory Taskforce (MISATFOR) meetings, IPEDS training, and other professional development opportunities to stay up to date with legislative issues, policy changes, etc.
- Grant digital badges to students as part of the college’s general education program.
- Assists in the preparation, follow-up, and writing of reports for the college’s accreditation agency and in the college’s efforts to secure grants.
- Manage incoming data requests related to completions, grades, and other academic concerns.
- As a part of the College’s risk management tool, annual mandatory compliance training is required.
- Assist with other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree and at least three years of relevant work experience required. Trade certifications and/or professional licensure may be substituted as needed.
- Technical competence, including experience with SAS or similar programming language to extract and explore data from primary systems AND experience with data reporting and/or visualization tools such as Tableau, Microsoft Power BI, etc.
- Familiarity with Banner, SQL Developer, and Cognos or Argos is preferred.
- Proficient in statistical analysis and data visualization.
- Knowledge of relational database platforms and experience with building, cleaning, and analyzing large datasets (required).
- Demonstrated excellence in written and oral communication and collaboratively working with others.
- Strong problem solving and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of state and federal reporting requirements, policies, and practices.
