Job Description
Controls Engineer
This role is responsible for the development and support of the process and automation controls for all areas of the brewery.
Essential Duties:
- Design, develop, validate, and commission control systems.
- Program PLCs and SCADA systems.
- Maintain proper documentation of all controls systems including process descriptions, Functional Design Specification (FDS), electrical drawings, process and instrumentation diagrams, state diagrams, and network topology drawings.
- Collaborate with IT, production, maintenance, QA, and the capital engineering team to execute various projects.
- Participate in the on-call programming support rotation as needed.
- Manage projects as needed.
- Provide mentoring and training as needed.
- Other projects and duties as assigned
Education/ Experience/Skills:
- Expert level position; Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of applicable work experience.
- Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Experience with maintaining and enhancing manufacturing process systems
- Expertise in process control systems; specifically, Siemens PLC and ProLeiT System Platform
- Understanding of databases and SQL along with standard programming languages
- Aptitude with basic instrumentation (temperature, pressure, flow) and familiarity with advanced analytical devices
- Ability to develop experimentation and test methods and protocol to prove engineering concepts.
- Expert communication skills
- Ability to plan and organize, adapt changing priorities, meet deadlines, and work well under pressure
- Wide degree of creativity and judgment is expected.
Wage information is provided in compliance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act and is New Belgium’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the compensation range and benefits offered for this position. The compensation offered to the successful applicant may vary based on factors including experience, skills, education, location, or other position-related reasons.
Starting Salary Range: 80,000.00 – 120,000.00
