Full-Time Continuous Improvement Manager
Job Description
Position Overview:
The Manager, Continuous Improvement (CI) has leadership responsibility for continuous improvement as part of the Genie Operating System to support achieving operational and financial goals while meeting team member, customer, and shareholder requirements. This includes but is not limited to improving Genie’s CI framework, facilitating business process improvement activities, coaching team members on CI methodology, and managing the CI certification program. Daily activities include facilitating and coaching CI work, developing and conducting trainings, and enhancing the CI strategy. The role reports into the Global Strategy and Product Management department under the Director, Global Continuous Improvement.
Responsibilities:
- Support the achievement of Genie’s operational and financial objectives
- Improve Genie’s Continuous Improvement framework and management system based on PDCA philosophy
- Assess and recommend continuous improvement opportunities supported by financial business cases
- Modernize continuous improvement systems and tools
- Manage the training and certification program to accelerate CI culture development
- Partner with business leads to document and deploy best common tools and practices
- Support meeting Genie diversity, inclusion, and equity (DEI) goals & initiatives
Major Accountability:
- Support achievement of Genie’s operational and financial objectives
- Improve Genie Continuous Improvement design and processes
- Manage and facilitate strategic business process Continuous Improvement activities
Key Milestones:
- Cost out, net working capital, operating profit, growth, etc. based on results achieved through facilitation and coaching of continuous improvement kaizen events
- Program milestones, processes improved, team members certified
- On-time-delivery, short and long-term results
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management or Engineering
- Minimum of 8 years total experience in Continuous Improvement, Lean, or Six Sigma
- Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, PDCA and other CI methodologies
- Experience with change management
- Structured approach, data-driven and analytical
- Experience in an international environment & ability to interact successfully in different cultures
- Strong collaboration and strategic decision-making skills
- Excellent communication, PowerPoint, and presentation skills
Language:
- Excellent written and spoken English
Travel:
- If remote, must be willing and able to travel up to approximately 50% (1-2 weeks per month)
- If located in Bothell, WA, must be willing and able to travel up to 25%
