Content Creator
Part-time, Hourly Non-exempt

 

Summary

 

Reporting to the Marketing & Events Manager, the Content Creator helps create, edit and curate the Museum’s digital and printed content. An ideal candidate is adept at video editing, graphic design and photo editing, has a creative spark and a knack for social media, impeccable attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects.

In-person preferred, but remote candidates may be accommodated.

Responsibilities

Video Editing

  • Direct, organize, and film videos for educational programming, fundraising campaigns, and other needs as requested
  • Help produce live events and activations
  • Identify opportunities to create videos to enhance content and identify ways to use video to enhance the online marketing of the various initiatives
  • Set up and maintain a database of video assets
  • Prioritize production of content and ensure it is engaging, accurate, informative and current on all platforms
  • Improve and correct lighting, coloring and faulty footage.
  • Input graphics and special effects to enhance viewer experience
  • Align all videos with current branding and manage unique design elements for different video categories/types

Graphic Design

  • Design, organize, and coordinate the execution of elevated brand material such as, but not limited to, social media graphics, digital advertisements, various print material, etc.
  • Maintain template consistency and file quality for all digital and marketing materials
  • Work with the Marketing Team to determine the creative scope and its plan of action for each individual project or campaign, while managing tasks independently
  • Collaborate effectively with team members to adhere to the sales, business, and development goals set forward
  • Contribute to collaborative design discussions, and use clear communication skills to present design ideas to the team
  • Work closely with the creative team to maintain and elevate the campaign aesthetic and visual experience within the brand guidelines

Qualifications

  • Minimum three years of creative work experience
  • Proficiency in InDesign, Premiere Pro, Illustrator, and Photoshop required
  • Experience editing short videos, adapted for different platforms, formats, and audiences
  • Experience with digital and printed graphic design materials
  • Prior experience with digital advertising through email, web, and social media
  • Strict attention to detail, accuracy, and quality of work
  • Ability to think creatively and implement new ideas while staying on top of the latest trends
  • Able to work and manage multiple projects independently while also being able to develop and critique creative work in a collaborative environment
  • Experience in animation a plus
  • Able to collaborate with all internal teams to build a positive, supportive, and inclusive culture focused on delivering value to our visitors
  • Promotes a culture of inclusivity and belonging that embraces the contributions of all team members
  • Must be kind, enthusiastic, friendly and have a desire to interact with children
  • Ability to listen and effectively communicate with a diverse population
  • Willingness to continually learn and adapt to challenges and differing perspectives
  • Bilingual a plus
