Planate is a small business provider of planning, design, infrastructure management, technical consulting, engineering, and construction management services in support of the US Department of Defense (DOD) and its Service (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps) missions, along with other US federal agencies, all over the world.

We are seeking a Construction Engineer/Auditor to support the improvement of essential urban services in Nauru. You will conduct daily site inspections, monitor construction quality, and ensure compliance with project standards for water and sanitation systems. This role involves overseeing safety regulations, maintaining detailed inspection logs, and ensuring that projects meet quality and safety requirements. You will contribute to the successful delivery of sustainable and resilient infrastructure, directly impacting water supply, sanitation, and waste management systems.
Responsibilities:
- Perform daily inspections of construction worksites to ensure compliance with project standards and safety regulations.
- Maintain detailed daily logs of inspections and observations, uploading all relevant data to the quality management system.
- Monitor and report on quality, safety, and adherence to project timelines at each worksite.
- Support the establishment of a water supply network, sanitation facilities, and waste recycling centers, contributing to a resilient and circular economy.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide technical input on assessments, improvements, and maintenance schemes for water and sanitation systems across Nauru.
- Ensure all construction work complies with local codes, standards, and environmental regulations.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and other stakeholders to ensure work is completed according to specifications.
- Conduct site safety audits and ensure safety protocols are being followed by all workers.
- Assist in the preparation of reports on worksite performance and progress for project managers and stakeholders.
- Perform other duties as required to support the project and ensure successful completion.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Environmental, or a related field preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of general work experience, with at least 3 years in construction or engineering.
- Strong knowledge of quality management systems and construction site protocols.
- Exceptional attention to detail, communication skills, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
- Experience in infrastructure projects involving water supply and sanitation systems is an advantage.
