Full-Time Congregational Shared Services Manager

Job Description

THE ROLE 

The Union for Reform Judaism’s (URJ) Congregational Engagement and Leadership Experiences (CELE) team seeks a Manager, Congregational Shared Services. The Manager, Congregational Shared Services will help to lead the Reform Movement Marketplace, where the URJ makes products and services to support day to day operations available to URJ affiliated congregations at low price points and high convenience levels. The Manager will also be involved in The Tent, which is the URJ’s communication and collaboration platform, where thousands of leaders throughout the Reform Movement network and share ideas and in coordinating URJ security and emergency preparation and response work.  

WHAT YOU WILL DO 

The Manager, Congregational Shared Services reports to Director, Congregational Shared Services and is responsible for the following: 

  • In collaboration with the Director, Shared Services, conduct vendor and product research, and help drive the decision-making process for offers to include in The Marketplace. 
  • Ensure The Marketplace reflects the ongoing needs and interests of URJ congregations, and the mission and vision of the URJ. 
  • Support existing URJ/vendor relationships by maintaining regular communication and being responsive to concerns, ideas, and new opportunities. 
  • Coordinate with IT and Business Systems teams to interpret data and keep the Marketplace website up to date. 
  • Ensure that all Marketplace activity is memorialized in Salesforce. Work with Business Development to track activity through dashboards, reports, and engagement plans. 
  • Share safety and security resources and webinars with the Movement, and support efforts to respond to emergency events. 
  • Connect congregational leaders to Marketplace, and Safety and Security related information in The Tent.  

WHO YOU ARE & KEYS TO SUCCESS (THE MUST-HAVES): 

To be successful in this job, you excel in the following areas: 

  • Synagogue Operations and Community Engagement. Experience, and an intimate knowledge of synagogue operations and community. Understanding of or willingness to learn about the needs of our congregations and how we can be responsive and supportive. Ability to understand the needs of the community and connect lay and professional leaders to Marketplace offers. 
  • Data Management and Evaluation. Ability to interpret usage and sales data to help move the work of Congregational Shared Services program forward. 
  • Project Management. Ability to start a project and see it through to its necessary conclusion, collaborating with stake holders and welcoming feedback along the way. 
  • Relationship Building. Eagerness to develop relationships with URJ staff, vendors, providers of security services and congregational leaders, being responsive to their needs while driving success for congregations and the Reform Movement Marketplace. 
  • Communication. Effective oral and written communication skills and able to utilize different forms of relevant media. 
  • REDI Experience (Racial Equity, Diversity, & Inclusion). Demonstrated experience prioritizing and executing on Racial Equity, Diversity, & Inclusion (i.e., ableism, LGBTQ+ Inclusion, antiracism, etc.) priorities.
