We are currently hiring for the position of:

CONCESSIONS SUPERVISOR

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Cinemas Operations, the part-time position of Concessions Supervisor is proactive in maintaining excellent customer service for the patrons of TIFF Bell Lightbox in accordance with the policies and procedures of the Visitor Experience Department. The Concession Supervisor provides direction and support for the concessions team and is responsible for all aspects of day-to-day concessions operations. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Proactively maintains excellent customer service for visitors of TIFF Bell Lightbox in accordance with the service measures of the Visitor Experience department. Addresses visitor concerns in a timely manner and offers solutions when possible
  • Monitors the performance of Concessions Stand Leads and Concessions Attendants and suggests opportunities for improvement. Supervises the training of new staff as needed
  • Works with management to develop and improve protocols for opening, closing, merchandising, and cleaning protocols. Ensures concession staff are following these protocols
  • Works with management to plan inventory levels. Receives stock deliveries and ensures accurate inputting into the point-of-sale system
  • Works with management to develop and improve cash handling procedures. Ensures staff are following these protocols
  • Preparation of timely and accurate reports
  • Liaising with internal teams to prepare special event orders
  • Sell food and beverage at the concession stand
  • Sell alcoholic beverages while maintaining established TIFF alcohol sales protocol 
  • Operation of point-of-sale system to reconcile transactions and maintain an accurate cash till
  • Ensure cleanliness of food service and storage areas with adherence to food sanitation standards
  • Maintain knowledge of TIFF Bell Lightbox, its programming, events, and facilities.
  • Arrive on-time for scheduled shifts, wearing approved uniform or dress code and prepared for shift
  • Other duties as assigned

RATE OF PAY

  • 18.75/Hourly

START DATE:

  • April 25, 2022

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to provide availability for at least three shifts per week (1 weekday, 1 weekend, 1 additional) for each week outside of the Festival
  • Must be available to work each day of the Toronto International Film Festival in September as well as each training day 
  • Must be adaptable to a flexible work schedule that includes evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Must hold a valid Ontario Smart Serve certificate
  • Previous experience supervising staff is an asset. Especially in a food service setting
  • Previous experience managing inventory is an asset
  • Previous experience with food preparation is an asset
  • Previous experience with a point-of-sale system and cash handling is an asset
  • Proven ability to work effectively with minimal supervision
  • May be required to lift and carry items up to 35lbs
  • Able to communicate fluently in English; knowledge of a second language is an asset.
  • CPR and First Aid training are an asset
  • Interest in film, non-profits, arts and culture is considered an asset
