Human Services – Social Development, Planning and Partnerships

Status: 1 Regular Full-time & 1 Contract Full-time of 13 Months

Salary Range: $89,469 to $111,834  per annum (plus comprehensive benefits, where applicable)

Location: 10 Peel Centre Drive, Brampton

Hours of Work: 35 hours per week

 

Who we are:

​​​The Social Development, Planning and Partnerships division works collaboratively with our community partners and multiple divisions within the Human Services department to enhance effective service delivery, identify gaps in services and efficiencies, and plan, influence and create solutions that positively impact the residents of Peel. We achieve this through program priorities including Poverty Reduction, Community Investment and Community Safety & Well-being. We provide services such as research, analysis, data analytics, technology, recoveries, appeals, eligibility review, business and policy support, training and development, planning, evaluation, continuous improvement, document services, and project expertise.

The Community Investment Program provides funding investments to support a strong and sustainable Peel not-for-profit sector that meets the needs of residents and advances community impact.  These investments provide essential funding to Peel not-for-profits that are building community by; providing programs to the most vulnerable; supporting capacity and resources for marginalized and equity-seeking populations; and enabling upstream systems change that addresses complex social challenges.

One (1) position (13-month contract) will provide expert guidance and support in the development of the Community Investment B3 (Black lead, Black mandated, Black serving) equity framework.

 

One (1) position (full time) will provide expert guidance and support for the Anti-Human Sex Trafficking Program.

 

What you will do in this role:

  • Preparing information for program reporting requirements and ensure program policies and procedures are consistent with regional policy and procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with internal and external partners to support the facilitation, strategic oversight, development, and implementation of program/community advisory boards, lived experience tables.
  • Developing various tools, processes, methodologies and reporting practices for Anti-Human Sex Trafficking, and other community initiatives and recommend and implement changes as necessary to reflect the changing landscape of the Community in Peel.
  • Providing strategic analysis and business practices expertise, consultation and advisory services that will assist in decision-making, inform policy, and program development.
  • Developing frameworks and performing analysis aligned to program requirements and other similar agreements, standards, guidelines, and relevant legislation/regulations.
  • Prepare specialized documents, reports, presentations, and statistical analysis for various stakeholders in Social Development, Partnerships and Planning.

 

What the role requires:

  • Post-secondary education in Human Services, Planning, Public Administration, or a related field, combined with a minimum 5 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • Advanced skills in MS Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint, and other data analysis tools (Power BI, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of human services and the non-profit sector.

 

Skills/Abilities:

  • Experience with working with and incorporating a diversity, equity, and inclusion lens.
  • Experience with report writing.
  • Experience with applied research, policy analysis, organizational learning, program design and evaluation.
  • Strong analytical, facilitation and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Strong critical thinking skills and able to identify and respond quickly to emerging issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to communicate complex ideas and present data.
  • Ability to demonstrate innovative thinking and initiative and a “self-starting” attitude to initiate projects.
  • Highly collaborative with strong interpersonal skills and a demonstrated customer service focus.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through continuous development, modeling inclusive behaviors, and proactively managing bias.

Work Mode & Job Location: In this role you will have the ability to work remotely and attend on-site when required based on operational requirements at the 10 Peel Centre Drive, Brampton worksite.  The frequency of on-site activities may vary on a weekly basis and based on operational requirements. Your remote work location must be located within the province of Ontario.
