Full-Time Community Development Worker

LikewiseCT – Posted by LikewiseCT London, England, United Kingdom

Job Description

About Likewise

Likewise is an innovative social care and mental health charity working at the heart of the Camden community to support individuals experiencing marginalisation and social exclusion.

Our culture is all about being human together – more human organisations do more human work. We put a lot into having authentic relationships, work hard to support each other’s sense of belonging and love learning together through the work we do.

The Community Development Role
We are looking for someone to join us as a community development worker. This is a unique role that will involve being part of two teams. Likewise, a creative, thoughtful, and innovative social care charity, and the newly developed West Camden Core mental health team. This new team represents part of the transformation of mental health services that is happening across the UK, with the aim of better-connecting communities and mental health services. You will be working within the values and practices of Likewise, whilst spending a significant portion of your time embedded within an NHS mental health team working alongside a wide range of clinical and non-clinical staff and local community partners. While traditionally mental health services have existed at a distance from the ‘real world’, the purpose of this role will be to help embed service offers into local community spaces, improving access and information, creating space for local populations to shape the way mental health services are designed and run, and addressing the major inequalities that exist in local mental health.
