Salary: £24,000 – £28,000 FTE

Fathers Network Scotland is a dynamic, award-winning charity that exists to improve children’s lives and outcomes through the positive involvement of dads, father-figures and whole families. They support dads and families get the help they need when they need it, train professionals in father-inclusive practice, and encourage employers across Scotland to create more gender equal workplaces through father inclusion, all of which has been underpinned by a robust evidence base.
Fathers Network Scotland provides expert advice on the needs of dads and families, and supports improvements to workplace policy and culture. They offer a wide range of training, workshops and talks to families, the professionals who support them, and employers, as well as providing a dynamic resource and learning hub. The hub’s relaxed space is designed for busy professionals to gain inspiration, share expertise and access essential knowledge.
The charity is now seeking a new Communications Officer to join their team and help to promote their life changing work in support of fathers, father-figures and families across Scotland. The Communications Officer will have varied responsibilities including managing and curating content for the online learning hub, promoting public events on behalf of the organisation, sourcing relevant industry news and research, and gathering both qualitative and quantitative data. In addition to this, you will edit and proof-read content before it goes out to the public, both for the website and the Fathers Network Scotland social media channels. You will also assist in the coordination of DADx online events and training programmes offered by the charity. The role will also include some administrative duties as decided by the charity Director.
Fathers Network Scotland is looking for somebody with a passion for the digital world. You should be an excellent communicator and a natural networker, with experience in writing and proof-reading content. You will have a keen eye for sourcing and developing newsworthy content which appeals to the Fathers Network Scotland audience. You will be confident in the use of computers and CRM administration, as well as general office administration. The charity is looking for somebody who has a can-do, friendly attitude, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. Most importantly, you will be a champion of fathers and understand the impact of the whole family on children.
