ABOUT THE ROLE:
We’re looking for a manager to focus on consumer communications at Current. The ideal candidate is a well-rounded storyteller with an ability to creatively tell a company’s story with a consumer-oriented lens through multiple touchpoints, including securing relevant media placement, writing and developing thoughtful press pitches, media materials, writing and editing original content and staying on top of relevant news and social cycles to identify new opportunities that drive increased brand awareness and consideration of Current.
The Communications Manager, Consumer should have a deep understanding of relevant consumer and cultural trends and be highly analytical to determine what matters to Current members in order to secure media placements that creatively tell the story of Current in line with the company’s mission, values, goals and relevance to our member base.
The ideal candidate should have an ability to own projects from start to finish, including research, pitching and reporting with a data-driven approach to providing coverage recommendations, and experience working cross-functionally amongst teams, in particular brand, product, technology and member experience.
ABOUT YOU:
- At least 4 years experience in corporate communications, ideally in-house at a B2C brand
- Highly organized and proactive, with an ability to execute and own plans from inception to completion
- Excellent writing, editing and grammatical skills
- Experience working in a fast-paced, results-driven environment
- Established media contacts, particularly in consumer-facing publications
- Experience working with content management systems, measurement and listening tools such as Contentful, Muckrack, Sprinklr, etc
- Highly analytical with a data-driven approach to providing recommendations and establishing KPIs
