The UBC Faculty of Medicine is seeking a Communications Coordinator to join our Development & Alumni Engagement team. This is an ideal opportunity for an enterprising writer and designer who is passionate about transforming health through knowledge creation and innovation. We work with some of Canada’s most influential health and biomedical researchers to convey their aspirations, accomplishments and impact in ways that inspire major gift donors.
To be successful in this role, you will:
- Work collaboratively with a dynamic team of fundraising professionals to understand our major gift donors and craft tailored messages about the value and impact of their philanthropy.
- Research, engage, and interview key faculty members, staff, learners, and community members to draw out relevant information about their projects, programs, or experiences.
- Use the insights and information you gather to write and produce inspiring letters, impact reports, and stories that support major gift fundraising.
- Manage a high volume of writing and design projects, adeptly responding to shifting priorities.
- Perform layout using InDesign, and develop infographics and diagrams.
- Provide miscellaneous editing and proofreading support to other members of the team.

Compensation Range: $5,791.00 – $6,943.33 – $8,323.42 monthly.
The Compensation Range is the span between the minimum and maximum base salary for a position. The midpoint of the range is approximately halfway between the minimum and the maximum and represents an employee that possesses full job knowledge, qualifications and experience for the position. In the normal course, employees will be hired, transferred or promoted between the minimum and midpoint of the salary range for a job.
