Job Description:
- You are a motivated Cloud Governance architect who is passionate about implementing governance controls for highly resilient, scalable, and secure architectures of AWS and Azure.
- You will be working within a collaborative cross-functional team, building, maintaining, and supporting environments running in cloud.
- This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in an early cloud adoption journey.
- You will be focused on reviewing existing cloud controls, enhancing, and implementing net-new cloud governance controls (preventative, reactive and corrective) with corresponding codified artifacts.
- Experience facilitating discussions with senior leadership regarding technical / architectural trade-offs, best practices, and risk mitigation Direct hands-on experience leading the design, development and deployment of business software at scale or recent hands-on technology infrastructure, network, compute, storage, and virtualization.
- Experience with software development life cycle (SDLC) and agile/iterative methodologies Scripting and/or coding skills.
Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Cloud Technologist with experience establishing Cloud Governance in complex cloud environment.
- Creating a Cloud Charter, Cloud Strategy, Roadmap experience for Cloud Operations with multiple cloud providers including AWS and Azure
- Develop and/or mature Cloud Governance capabilities focusing on emerging risks related to cloud computing and strengthening Cloud Governance capabilities
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional technology teams to establish and manage the Technology Cloud Computing Policy and related documentation
- Act as a key participant in providing strategic governance and oversight capabilities to companywide cloud initiatives
- Drive awareness of Cloud requirements and extend and enhance capabilities to monitor adherence with policy requirements.
- Responsible for defining and implementing appropriate governance methodology, and best practices for GuideWell cloud operations program, while ensuring compliance with organizational standards and policies
- Serve as the go-to person for all cloud governance issues and remediation.
- Build short and long-term strategic roadmaps for cloud services and facilitate prioritization of services and features to create business value for the organization.
- Partner with application, architecture, operations, and technology teams to identify and manage issues, risks, scope, schedule, and communications on cloud strategy.
- Make recommendations on platform cloud migration dispositions (re-host, re-platform, refactor, replace, retire) based on technical and business requirements.
- Work collaboratively within integrated, cross-functional teams to deliver comprehensive strategies that enable cloud services and infrastructure transformations.
- Work closely with the business development team to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Document and develop in-depth knowledge of the AWS and Azure cloud governance, architecture, infrastructure, and technology portfolio.
- Develop, document, make recommendations, and communicate plans for investing in IT cloud infrastructure, including analysis of cost reduction opportunities.
- Acts as an expert for AWS/Azure cloud governance and operations in the strategy, design, and delivery of IT solutions.
- Advises teams of cloud operations standard requirements, methodology, and processes.
- Anticipates areas where architecture and operational standards may need to be developed and defines those standards that are in-line with customer, IT, and industry standards
Qualifications:
- Requires Bachelor’s degree in a related field; 7+ years of experience in architecture/design and application development in relevant technology disciplines; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
- 3+ years of experience in information technologies in a highly regulated healthcare environment
- Must have application/solution development skills using cloud native services, APIs, Java/ JS (Node JS, JS, Python, Java and AngularJS.
- Public Cloud Certification(s) – AWS, MS Azure, and OCI.
- Comfortable presenting to senior leadership (e.g., Technical Board, Directors, Vice Presidents ).
- Experience defining and implementing governance and process improvements to optimally manage hybrid cloud environments (private on-premise, AWS, Azure and OCI public clouds).
- Requires strong stakeholder management experience to drive discussions between business, operations, and technology teams.
- Relationship builder and team player.
- Experience developing, integrating, and managing complex cloud operations standards, processes, and procedures.
- Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to lead and influence others.
- Experience developing, optimizing, and managing cloud costs analysis, service levels, work in-take processes.
- Any experience developing or supporting a Cloud Center of Excellence (CCoE) or similar governance models.
- Working knowledge of the AGILE development framework.
- Experience in establishing technical and operational governance over private and public cloud architectures.
- 2+ years of experience with Technology Policy development and management
Desired Qualifications:
- 1+ years of experience with cloud governance spanning Private, Public, Hybrid Cloud, and SaaS
- 1+ years experience with governance framework development including process development, standardization, maturation including automation, established measures of success (e.g. OLAs, boundaries, targets), and roles and responsibilities
- 1+ Experience with IT controls, aligned with industry Cloud frameworks, leveraging tools and/or automation to ensure scalability and effectiveness
- Experience performing root cause analysis (RCAs) of cloud related issues
- Cloud and/or Technology related professional certifications
