Part-Time Clinical Supervisor
Job Description
Clinical Supervisor Vacancy
DreamArts’ award-winning 1:1 arts therapy service, Express Plus, is currently recruiting a clinical supervisor to offer group supervision to our team of Qualifying/Qualified Therapists. Express Plus is a Westminster based service, aimed at supporting children and young people aged 7-18, using a creative approach to traditional therapy.
Background Information
DreamArts aims to provide emotional wellbeing and therapeutic support to children, young people, and families, with a connection to Westminster. The organisation fuses the worlds of arts and therapy to create a number of programmes/projects, tailored to meeting the needs of young people within the borough.
Express Plus is DreamArts’ dedicated 1:1 arts therapy service. It is an after-school service which runs during term-time only, and is delivered at three family hubs across Westminster; Edgware Road, Pimlico, and Queen’s Park. The service employs a creative client-led approach to therapy, where young people are invited to use arts materials (crafts, paints, sand play, puppetry etc) as outlets for emotional expression, in any which way they choose.
Job Purpose
To provide group supervision remotely, 6 times a month to DreamArts Qualifying/Qualified Therapists (QTs) undertaking a placement on the Express Plus arts therapy service. As the service runs term-time only, supervision will also be expected to do the same, unless in the case of being rescheduled due to supervisor absence. The post holder will work in a largely autonomous manner receiving managerial support from the Programme Manager, and clinical supervision from an external supervisor.
Salary
To be paid at a rate of £80 per supervision session delivered.
Working hours
To offer evening supervision (5pm onwards) due to the majority of our QTs being in full-time work. Days and times negotiable upon interview.
Duties and Responsibilities
· To provide up to 4 sessions of group supervision for up to 9 volunteer placement counsellors, per month, for 100 minutes per group. The 100 minutes should be broken down as 10-minute check in/check out + 30 minutes presenting time per supervisee. Each group will consist of 3 supervisees, who will meet twice a month.
· To record attendance of each supervision session.
· To contribute to feedback towards the completion of QT placement reports.
· To keep the Programme Manager informed of any concerns that the supervisor may have regarding the supervisee’s fitness to practice or any other concerns
· To attend termly meetings with the Programme Manager, at a rate of £25 per 30 minutes.
· To provide additional supervision in the case of any safeguarding issues which require further discussion outside of the allocated supervision time, at a rate of £25 per 30 minutes.
· Hold clinical responsibility for all client work for which supervision is provided.
Communication and working relationships
· The post holder is managerially and clinically accountable to the Programme Manager and DreamArts.
· To liaise with the Programme Manager on all matters regarding the welfare of all clients and QTs.
