Who We Are
Have Heart Healing and Wellness is a multidisciplinary group practice committed to collective liberation, healing justice, and belonging to a vibrant community of practitioners with shared values. We believe that healing is an essential piece of creating a more just and liberated world. Accordingly, our practice focuses are embodied trauma healing, healing from gendered violence, affirming care for trans, queer and nonbinary communities, and eating disorder and body image work from a body liberation perspective. We draw heavily on our interdependence, knowing that our clinical work is only strengthened by the relationships we have with one another. The cultivation of our shared values and commitment to politicized healing guides us in the work we do.
Position Overview
We are looking to bring on a new clinical director as our practice grows and expands to meet community need. The ideal candidate will share our commitment to politicized healing and an interdisciplinary approach to our work. We are looking for someone to join us who has a strong commitment to social justice values and practice, a working knowledge of experiences of systemic oppression, and has clinical experience working with eating disorders/disordered eating, somatic trauma therapy, as well as experience working inside of queer, trans, and gender non conforming communities. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to mentorship, providing clinical supervision and teaching. The clinical director is responsible for providing leadership and clinical development, and in some cases, supervision to our clinical team members. The clinical director must think globally and be able to act both independently and interdependently with the rest of the leadership team to promote the growth and effectiveness of Have Heart in our communities. This is a full time, 40 hour/week position. The clinical director maintains their own 18 clients/week caseload, provides ~10 hours a week of clinical oversight including supervision and team meetings, and an additional 10-12 hours a week of administrative and community duties.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinates and collaborates with leadership team made up of clinical leads, operations manager, and director of training to ensure Have Heart’s effectiveness in our communities
- Ensures and guides in embodiment and active practice of our clinical and theoretical orientation to embodied politicized healing amongst clinical team members
- Understands and takes an active, independent role in improving Have Heart’s commitment to the community by proactively recruiting new team members. Bottom lines and collaborates with leadership team in all hiring activities
- Guides clinical team members in attending to self of the therapist issues and supports commitment to their growth and development as clinicians and community members
- Bottom lines and facilitates weekly team meetings with collaboration from leadership team
- Develops, implements, and supports the streamlining of processes to benefit Have Heart and our clients
- In collaboration with the leadership team develops and implements effective strategies to promote the continued growth of Have Heart including marketing and client retention efforts
- Understands, follows, and effectively communicates all policies and procedures of Have Heart as a supervisor and clinician. Regularly reviews and recommends updates to existing policies and procedures to make sure they are in alignment with the needs of our practice and community
- Is proactive and responsible in holding clinicians accountable in note content and timeliness, marketing and networking (if applicable), embodiment of practice culture, and overall performance of their job duties on a consistent basis
- Checks in at least monthly with leadership team regarding processes and/or procedures, including proposed changes, clinical issues and successes
- Provides biweekly supervision to fully licensed clinicians
- If applicable provides licensure supervision to associate level clinicians in collaboration with clinical leads
- Within boundaries and personal capacity, provides crisis support to clinical team members
- Manages their clinical team and provides accountability, performance evaluation, hiring and structuring of the clinical team
- Proactively works towards improving the client experience at Have Heart and ensures client satisfaction by way of supervising clinicians
- Collaborates with leadership team and administrative team members on improving overall client and team member experience
- Identifies areas of clinical improvement and in client experience and initiates the improvement measures
- Stays highly organized
- Maintains a high attention to detail and ability to prioritize various projects independently
- Passion for working with others (being collaborative) and helping our team members grow and learn
- Ability to handle and provide straight-forward feedback amongst other leadership team members and clinical team members
- Maintains a problem solving and self-generating mindset and thinks ahead to ensure any challenges don’t greatly impact progress or outcomes for clients or Have Heart team members
- Sets goals and develops achievable timelines to meet them
- Other supervisory and leadership related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Current Masters or Doctoral level degree and licensure in counseling, psychology, social work, or related field
- Experience and proper licensure to provide clinical supervision to masters level counseling associates and other professionals
- Ideal candidates will have some managerial experience
- Desire and commitment to deepening experience in somatic work
- Ability to work collaboratively and share mutual support with other team members
- Desire to be part of a community of healers deeply invested in community care and collective liberation
- Capacity to know, assert and keep the therapeutic frame with clients and to communicate and teach its importance to supervisees
- Ability to reflect critically in regards to self of the therapist and share openly about own process
- Responds to and gives feedback with not only directness, but also with grace and humility
- Utilizes kind, respectful, and professional communication
- Commitment to increasing access to healing for QTBIPOC
- Desire to expand one’s therapeutic knowledge and skills through trainings, readings, and other educational opportunities
- Excited about networking and building connections in healing community in Seattle and surrounding area
- Capacity to build and maintain caseload of 18 client appointments/week
- Ability to manage time and schedule efficiently and adhere to agreed upon schedule
- Conduct oneself in alignment with the standards of the appropriate professional association associated with your license
Desired Qualifications
- Lived Black, indigenous, or person of color experience
- Experience working with queer and trans clients
- Training in EMDR, IFS, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Organic Intelligence, Somatic Experiencing, or other somatics and trauma modalities
- Experience and continued interest in working with eating disorders, disordered eating, and body image
- Working knowledge of body and fat liberation
- Commitment to growing knowledge and practice of social justice/world issues
- Engaged in personal and professional community

- Someone who doesn’t feel passion for politicized embodied healing and critically examining medicalized models of healing
