Primary Purpose:

Serves as the primary lead in developing pilot programs and strategic collaborations that enable the exploration of new clean energy technologies and support Clean Transportation’s business plans and objectives. Consults with subject matter experts, business and financial analysts and operational departments in the development and execution of innovative projects that encompass external stakeholders and unique funding opportunities. Conducts market analysis and creates research-oriented papers on technological advancements in the energy and clean transportation space that help position the Company to seek unique collaboration opportunities with the public and private sectors. Partners with key internal stakeholders to help identify and promote pilot programs and demonstration opportunities.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop strategic frameworks, visions, and initial project concepts and identify clean transportation and energy opportunity areas that align with other internal business units. In conjunction with subject matter experts, analyze and review legislative/regulatory policies and funding opportunities that impact the clean energy and transportation spaces.
  • Conduct extensive and detailed market trend analyses to help facilitate initial ideation and identify unique technologies and areas of interest for Clean Transportation, as well as conduct customer and stakeholder outreach to ideate, investigate, and validate initial concepts and ideas that promote a net benefit for ratepayers and the utility.
  • Manage and facilitate contract and agreement negotiations associated with collaborations and new pilot projects, as well as responsible for stakeholder management and engagement for all innovative clean transportation projects and speaking engagements.
  • Develop business cases and project plans that clearly define utility objectives, financial implications, benefits and risks associated with the work, and measurable key performance indicators (KPIs), in addition to providing expertise in clean transportation public policy matters. Will be required to testify at regulatory and legislative hearings.
  • Manages the department’s responses to all requests for letters of support or commitment and facilitates interdepartmental review of all appropriate materials.
  • Performs other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties).
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree Engineering, Economics, Business, Accounting, Political Science, Law, Public Policy or related or equivalent training and/or experience.
  • 6 years Experience in the energy industry or in-related areas or industries.
  • Strong writing and critical thinking/analysis skills required.
  • Be proactive and have strong follow-through as well as detailed oriented.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • Thorough working knowledge of the energy industry and changing state/federal regulatory environments is preferred.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel.
  • Travel within and outside the service territory may be required.
  • Must reside in Southern California or be willing to relocate upon hire.
  • We offer a hybrid work environment. Although the schedule may vary, typically this will allow you to work from the office two to three days per week and work remotely on the remaining workdays.

$118,900.00 – $178,400.00
