Job Description
Chapter promotes the mental health and wellbeing of individuals, communities and workplaces through the provision of education and training services. Our vision is for communities where mental ill-health is no longer a barrier to opportunity, and where everyone can reach their potential and realise their aspirations.
We work closely with individuals taking time to understand their needs, recognising their strengths, and supporting them to engage in their local community. We work to raise awareness of the experiences, needs, barriers and inequalities that people affected by mental ill health experience, by providing a strong, informed, and credible local voice.
Chapter is seeking an experienced, highly motivated and strategically minded individual to lead our organisation. We are looking for someone who can truly inspire and influence, who lives our values and – supported by the senior management team – can lead our team to deliver Chapter’s five year strategy.
We are interested in hearing from candidates who understand the unique funding environment in which charities operate as income generation is a key requirement of this role. We secure most of our income from grants, with a current turnover of £350K, and have started to diversify our income streams to enable further growth.
Our ideal candidate will be capable of making meaningful connections with others across the voluntary, statutory and private sector, and be able to influence stakeholders, to maximise Chapter’s impact and ensure our sustainability. In addition, you will need a deep knowledge, if not lived experience, of mental ill health and the multiple and complex issues that people affected by mental ill health face.
