Full-Time Chesterfield Criminal Justice Substance Misuse Practitioner

Job Description

The Derbyshire Recovery Partnership are looking to recruit a Substance Misuse Practitioner for a fantastic opportunity in Chesterfield to work intensively with service users presenting with drug and alcohol issues, are involved in the criminal justice system, and who may be in prison or in the community.

 

This particular role would involve specifically work with individuals involved with the Integrated Offender Management team.  The role will also involve some community and prison in-reach work, working with a reduced caseload as you deliver a high level of intense interventions and support. You will be co-ordinating care and delivering psychosocial and harm reduction interventions to service users in structured 1:1 key work and group work sessions. Service users may be subject to licence conditions, Alcohol Treatment Requirement (ATR) and Drug Rehabilitation Requirement (DRR) court orders, and may be involved with the Integrated Offender Management (IOM) team, courts, Liaison and Diversion, Prison healthcare, Probation services. The focus of this role is helping engage service users in a care-planned and recovery-focussed way to attain improved health outcomes, achieve their personalised treatment goals and reduce criminality. Working with a reduced caseload you will provide intensive and focused interventions individuals involved with substances and the criminal justice system.

This role will be based in Chesterfield, working 37.5 hours per week; Monday-Friday 9am-5pm, on a permanent contract.

Successful applicants will be able to demonstrate a clear passion for working with service users involved in the criminal justice system, have an innovative, motivating and proactive approach to their work and experience of using appropriate models, interventions and approaches tailored to meet the individual needs of service users with varying and complex needs.
