Job Description

EAC Network, a not-for-profit social service agency that empowers, assists, and cares for over 82,000 people in need through 100 programs across Long Island and NYC, seeks a Center Manager to work full time for its Hempstead Senior Community Services Center. The Center Manager is a non-exempt position paying $21 per hour at 35 hours per week. The office is located in Hempstead, NY. The role reports to Senior Director.

Primary Purpose of Job:

The Center Manager is responsible for coordinating & monitoring the day to day operations of the Hempstead Senior Community Service Center and supervising all Center staff.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Supervise and delegate tasks to all program staff & volunteers.
  2. Adhere to all policies and procedures required by the Nassau County Office for the Aging
  3. Collect program data and monitor completion of program forms on a daily basis.
  4. Monitor all aspects of nutrition services including temperatures of food.
  5. Supervise collection of voluntary contributions, maintain fiscal records & adhere to protocols for collection of contributions.
  6. Coordinate and monitor transportation to and from the SCSC.
  7. Input monthly data into the Harmony database and prepare accurate monthly statistical reports.
  8. Enroll new members, prepare and maintain accurate and up to date client records.
  9. Develop and implement program activities, prepare a monthly calendar of events.
  10. Accompany participants to offsite activities.
  11. Customarily and regularly exercise discretionary powers.
  12. Conduct program outreach to recruit new members.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required:

  1. H.S. Diploma or educational equivalent required, degree preferred.
  2. A minimum of two years of relevant experience, previous experience working with the elderly and supervisory experience preferred.
  3. Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
  4. Must be proficient in computer applications or other automated systems such as spreadsheets, Microsoft Office applications, calendar, and email and/or database software necessary to perform work assignments.
  5. Certification in Food Service Managers Training from Nassau County Department of Health, or able to pass test upon hire.
