What We Can Achieve Together:

The Cattle Program Manager supports The Nature Conservancy Zero Conversation Commodities team. The Project Manager leads the business strategy and supports operations across the Cattle Program. The position reports to TNC’s Strategic Cattle Partnerships Lead. May involve domestic and international travel of 10% or more.

They will work with supply chain stakeholders globally to plan, implement, and coordinate sustainable solutions in the Cattle industry. This will involve collaborating with industry partners to define the economics and design of sustainability interventions in feed production.

The Cattle Program Manager will be responsible for overseeing domestic and international legal contracting and agreement processes. They will receive support and guidance from TNC’s legal team and external counsel. Additionally, they will assist the wider ZCC team by coordinating operations, including strategy development, tracking outcomes, team communications and management, logistics management, and other related tasks.

This role will influence the outcome of corporate initiatives at the country, sub-national, and local levels. They develop strategic partnerships with relevant associations, conservation organizations, and industries to advance the organization’s conservation agenda.

The Cattle Program Manager will supervise 1-3 staff over time.

We’re looking for a passionate, dedicated person to act as a lead Cattle Program Manager in the cattle industry and work within our Zero Conversion Commodities Program, which is part of the Global Provide Food and Water Business Unit. A significant understanding of sustainability issues within the aquaculture sector, analytical skills, project management expertise, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are key in this role.

This position may require traveling occasionally and working long and flexible hours as needed. The position is full-time, fully remote, and will be based out of Brazil (desired regions as São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Brasília, Pará, or Curitiba), Argentina or the United States.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, political science, public policy, international relations, international development or related field and four years related experience, or equivalent combination.
  • Experience leading complex projects or strategic initiatives in an unstructured environment.
  • Experience researching, critically analyzing, and evaluating information from divergent sources and compiling it into cohesive reports and recommendations for strategy and action.
  • Experience writing and editing promotional and informational material.
  • Fluency in Portuguese.
  • Advanced written and spoken English.
  • Ability to work remotely with different time zones.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Multi-lingual skills and multi-cultural or cross-cultural experience appreciated.
  • Master’s degree.
  • Critical analytical thinking and excellent English writing skills are essential.
  • Familiarity and knowledge related to business, governmental, and/or environmental policy and practices pertaining to the global strategy area of focus.
  • Ability to develop and drive new ideas and approaches.
  • Ability to work in a multicultural and multidisciplinary context.
  • Ability to work well in a highly matrixed, decentralized and collaborative organization. Possesses strong interpersonal skills and political savvy.  Must be a team player.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet time sensitive deadlines.
  • NGO and/or corporate relations experience.
  • Ability to write and speak in a language other than English, such as Spanish, Portuguese French or Chinese, highly desirable.

Salary Information:

This position may be based in any country where TNC has an established entity, taking into consideration legal restrictions, such as non-national ratios and immigration processing times. For Brazil based applicants only, the starting pay range for this position is generally within the range of $185,000-$193,920 for annual base salary and is based on location, qualifications, specific skills, and experience. This range only applies to candidates whose country of employment is Brazil. For all other applicants, pay ranges will be in local currency, the pay range will be based on the local labor market, and not tied to the above pay range. Your geographic location will be confirmed during the recruitment and used to determine your actual pay range. Additionally, for all applicants, actual pay will fall within a range based on a variety of factors including, for example, the candidate’s qualifications, specific skills, and experience.
