Overall Responsibilities
Reporting to the Category Solutions Manager, the Category Solutions Analyst is responsible for supporting category management analysis and execution with key customers in order to grow total category sales.
Specific Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Play a supporting role in the AOP process, integrating brand and channel strategy to guide sales execution plans through channel MAPS, specifically on Assortment/Distribution and Shelving/Space.
- Ensure the fundamentals of Category Management and industry best practices are present in analysis and recommendations.
- Provide analytical support to help drive channel plans during the annual business planning process
- Provide analytical support to help the line review process, make recommendations on category space allocations and develop MODs using space planning software and/or through third party vendors.
- Use POS tools to build, track and report against channel and retailer KPIs, proactively identifying key opportunities, risks and solutions to close emerging gaps vs annual plan
- Collaborate with the KAMs to monitor and track established distribution & shelving KPIs and proactively lead strategic and tactical recommendations to close gaps and/or accelerate growth.
- Use POS tools to build, track and report against channel and retailer KPIs, proactively identifying key opportunities, risks and solutions to close emerging gaps vs annual plan
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Requirements
- Undergraduate degree in business administration or similar field
- 1-3 years in a CPG environment, working in a Commercial role
- Demonstrated ability to leverage Analytical/POS tools (Nielsen/IQVA, Retailer POS, Tableau, Shopper Intelligence and others) to drive strategy, KPIs, execution and measurement
- Exceptional ability to translate data and insights into a compelling business case (storytelling)
- A track record of success in executing brand and category growth initiatives with retailers
- Exceptional planning, organizing and coordination skills across multiple projects and initiatives
- Ability to proactively identify problems/circumvent roadblocks to deliver solutions and meet commitments on time
- Ability to work effectively with peers and key stakeholders to strategize, plan, coordinate and resolve problems
- Strives to understand the needs/perspectives of others and remain open to influence
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills (reading, writing, listening, oral, presentation)
