Job Description:

The Niceville Cashier Supervisor position is directly accountable to the Business Office Manager for the following duties and responsibilities:

The individual filling this position is expected to play a positive role in helping the College change as necessary to effectively carry out its mission.

  • Thoroughly verify the accuracy of daily cashier batches to include accompanying receipts, accounts receivable documents, checks, cash, and ensuring that the batch is ready for deposit.
  • Preparing daily bank deposits and reconciling cashier reports with the Student Fee receipts report.
  • Providing Imprest (petty cash) Fund Cashier support services to the various auxiliary enterprises.
  • Scheduling of cashier.
  • Scheduling and supervising registration related cashiering activities on campus and providing oversight at off-campus centers.
  • Scheduling and conducting college-wide cashier training sessions.
  • Performing duties of Imprest Fund Cashier including maintaining petty cash funds, various deposit funds, and change funds.
  • Recommending and participating in the development and modification of automated business office support systems.
  • Review Financial Aid disbursements for accuracy and assist in the distribution of Financial Aid refunds.
  • Monitoring and reconciling web payments to ensure accuracy in interface systems.
  • Process refunds to students with credit balances, including managing BankMobile student refunds and returns.
  • Assist in student drop for non-payment processes.
  • Verifying daily mail check receipts.
  • Manage NelNet payment plan program.
  • Recommending, developing, and updating business office procedures.
  • Maintaining customer service functions within the Business Office and Information Centers.
  • Monitoring the departmental activity calendar and ensuring that all scheduled tasks have been completed.
  • Assist with third party billing and payment tracking as needed.
  • As a part of the college’s risk management tool annual mandatory compliance training is required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Business Office Manager/Analyst.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree plus a minimum of two to four years relevant work experience required.
  • Two years supervisory experience preferred.
  • Work experience in higher education setting in student accounts preferred.
  • Previous work experience with automated accounting systems including accounts receivable.
  • PC experience and working knowledge of Microsoft Office Systems.
  • Proficiency in using EXCEL and Microsoft Word.
  • Detail oriented and able to multi-task effectively.
  • Excellent teamwork and customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated excellence in written and oral communication.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Discretion regarding student and personnel matters.
