Full-Time Campaign Coordinator, Offshore Wind Energy Program

We are seeking a full-time Campaign Coordinator for our Offshore Wind Energy Program with a strong focus on communication strategies to build public support for offshore wind power along the Atlantic Coast. You will join a passionate, committed, and fun team that has been successfully advocating for the responsible development of offshore wind power since 2010. Offshore wind power has a pivotal role to play in the transition away from fossil fuels toward a clean and equitable energy future, and NWF plays a unique leadership role in building the diverse, powerful partnerships needed to finally bring it online. It is an exciting time to join our Offshore Wind Energy Program and help NWF broaden the reach and impact of our advocacy and communications efforts. In this role you will support all facets of our campaign work, reporting to the Offshore Wind Energy Program Director and working with NWF’s dynamic team to inspire and mobilize support for this critical climate solution.
The preferred location for this role is the National Wildlife Federation’s Northeast Regional Center in Montpelier, VT, however candidates based remotely in New England, New York, or New Jersey will be considered.
Principal Responsibilities Include:
Supporting the production of print and online campaign communication materials, including conducting research, drafting/creating content, and working with graphic designers;
Supporting traditional media engagement, including generating opinion media content and pitching coverage of campaign events and news;
Supporting grassroots organizing activities, including staffing events/hearings, activist recruitment, data entry, and ongoing communication with activists;
Leading online organizing initiatives and activist cultivation;
Periodically representing NWF at coalition and public meetings, in the media, and before decision-makers;
Tracking offshore wind-related legislative and policy developments, helping to convey key details and engagement opportunities to our coalition partners; and
Administrative support across the team as needed.
Qualifications:
A degree in environmental studies, political science, communications, conservation, energy, or related field is preferred..
At least two years of professional experience is required. Advocacy campaign experience is preferred.
Strong written/verbal communication and organizational skills are required, as well as a demonstrated ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Graphic design skills are preferred.

Travel Requirements:
Frequent travel throughout the region (including overnights) will be required, including evening hearings and meetings.
Compensation:
Salary range for the Campaign Coordinator is commensurate with experience, ranging from $40,000 to $50,000. The National Wildlife Federation offers excellent benefits, including 16 weeks of paid FMLA leave, competitive compensation, and a family-friendly, flexible work environment.
