We are looking to recruit an experienced Café & Catering Assistant to support our in-house catering team in delivering an outstanding catering service to our students and staff. This will include our events and hospitality services. Our state-of-the-art AgriFood centre has space for conferences and events catering up to 500 persons. The successful applicant will assist in the daily running of our college dining room services for our day and residential students as well as the Graze Cafe, which is open for HE students, staff, and external visitors. This is an exciting time to join the College as we grow our catering business to adapt to the needs of our students and growth in our commercial activities in conferences and events.

What You’ll Do

As part of our in-house catering team, you’ll assist with the day-to-day operations of the College’s dining room and café outlets, ensuring top-quality catering services for students, staff, and visitors. You’ll also help with internal events and functions, making every occasion a success.

  • Serve meals and manage catering requirements across various outlets.
  • Maintain high standards of hygiene in kitchen and customer areas.
  • Follow cleaning schedules and food hygiene regulations.
  • Assist in managing stock, minimizing wastage, and ensuring compliance with portion control.
  • Provide flexible support for events, including weekends and evenings when required.

What We’re Looking For

  • Passion for food: You love creating delicious dishes and providing excellent customer service.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years in a similar catering role.
  • Skills: Strong teamwork, customer service skills, and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Qualifications: A current Food Hygiene Certificate and a full UK driver’s license.
  • Personality: Outgoing, approachable, and adaptable.
