Full-Time CADD Engineer II
Job Description
- Lead the creation and delivery of advanced training sessions for CADD tools, including Bentley OpenRoads, OpenBridge, ProjectWise, and other software.
- Develop comprehensive training materials, such as manuals, instructional videos, and interactive modules tailored to different user skill levels.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather input on workflow challenges and propose innovative solutions to streamline processes.
- Evaluate existing CADD workflows and identify areas for improvement to enhance project delivery efficiency and consistency.
- Lead the development, review, and updates of guidance documents, best practices, and standard operating procedures related to CADD software and workflows.
- Provide advanced technical support for complex CADD-related issues, working closely with users to diagnose problems and implement effective solutions.
- Serve as an escalation point for entry-level support staff, guiding them in resolving issues and improving their technical skills.
- Mentor entry-level engineers and support staff, and provide guidance/support to help them develop their CADD tool and project workflow skills.
- Keep informed of the latest updates in CADD technology and industry best practices, integrating new tools and techniques into team operations.
- Lead by example by maintaining high standards of work quality and customer service on the CADD Integration team.
- Knowledge and understanding of CADD tools, such as Bentley OpenRoads, OpenBridge, ProjectWise, and SharePoint.
- Knowledge of NCDOT or similar transportation agency standards, workflows, and guidelines.
- Skills creating, editing, and maintaining technical documentation, user guides, and training materials.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams to implement new processes and standards.
- Experience coordinating with stakeholders to understand needs, gather feedback, and implement workflow improvements.
- Experience using and troubleshooting CADD software, particularly Bentley’s suite.
- Experience supporting CADD workflows and solving complex software issues in a professional setting.
- Strong understanding of civil engineering design principles related to transportation and infrastructure projects.
- Knowledge of project delivery processes and how CADD tools integrate within these workflows.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for developing clear documentation and delivering training.
- Strong presentation skills to engage and instruct users during training sessions.
- We may require registration as a professional engineer by the NC Board of Examiners for Engineers and Surveyors.
- Bachelors Degree in engineering, and
- 3+ years of relevant experience; or
- An equivalent combination of education and experience.
