Full-Time Buyer Planner

Job Description

As a(n) Buyer Planner you will have the opportunity to develop and maintain a supply-chain relationship.  Your contributions will have a direct impact on the business by assuring all materials and services purchased are of the quality and service levels specified in order to support the needs of the organization and its customers.  The team you will be working with is collaborative and cohesive, and values time management and problem solving.

So, what will you be doing as a(n) Buyer Planner?

  • Initiate action to prevent occurrence of non-conformities related to product, process and/or the system.
  • Identify and/or record any problems relating to the product, processes and the quality system.
  • Initiate, recommend or provide solutions through designated channel.
  • Verify the implementation of solutions.
  • Control further processing, delivery or installation of non-conforming product until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition is corrected.
  • Using the Materials Requirements Planning (MRP) system or purchase requisitions, place orders and schedule material deliveries and/or service requirements needed to support the manufacturing of the products and customer service.
  • Negotiate pricing and terms with new and existing suppliers using competitive quotes as the benchmark.
  • Monitor current inventory levels against actual requirements to determine if existing open orders need to be re-scheduled (pulled in / pushed out), need to be cancelled, or new orders need to be placed.
  • Ensure that all suppliers fully understand the quality conformance requirements of Gribetz International (per L&P 9000) and are appraised of any non-conformance or deviation from these requirements.
  • Ensure that rejected or non-conforming material is returned for repair or replacement as required.
  • Recommend and/or implement plans to continuously improve the relationship between Gribetz and its suppliers and the performance of suppliers as it relates to quality, delivery, and cost.

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

  • Minimum of 2 years previous purchasing experience is required.
  • MRP or other materials planning experience helpful but not required.
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills and be computer literate.
