Join King County Parks in the unique opportunity to elevate operational and programmatic strategies at Marymoor Park, one of King County’s most beloved destinations as our new Marymoor Park Business Unit Supervisor (classification: Customer Services Administrator). In this dynamic role, you’ll lead and nurture the talented Marymoor Business Unit Team, ensuring our essential support work enhances services across the many services we offer at Marymoor. You’ll also play a pivotal role in overseeing major special events, from our exciting concert and movie series to prestigious national attractions like Cirque Du Soleil.
As the Marymoor Park Business Unit Supervisor, not only will you take the lead in overseeing the essential business functions, but you will also represent the park in the community and with various agencies. You will manage the budget, prepare reports, and make strategic recommendations, all while guiding a dedicated team through employee development and performance management. Plus, you’ll play a key role in recommending and implementing both small and large capital projects that enhance this vibrant park experience.

What You Will Be Doing:
- Oversee business operations and scheduling functions for King County’s Marymoor Park.
- Represent the interests of Marymoor Park and the County as primary representative to community, County agencies, other jurisdictions and user groups for issues related to Marymoor Park and associated activities.
- Monitor unit budget, prepare reports and make recommendations for budget preparation.
- Supervise the work of assigned staff, including oversight of employee development, performance management, discipline, and hiring and selection process.
- Make recommendations for small and large capital projects and participate with project team during implementation.
- Five (5) years of increasingly responsible experience in facilities management.
- Three (3) years’ experience supervising a team in accomplishing established goals and in addressing performance issues.
- Experience working with parks boards and recreation groups, including assessing community recreational needs and facility capacity, developing programs to meet those needs, and fostering partnership development.
- Experience applying equity and social justice principles that exemplify shared values, behaviors, and practices to all aspects of the work and work environment.
- Experience in budget management with cost recovery.
- Exceptional skills in both external and internal facing communication.
Any equivalent combination of experience and education which provides the applicant with the skills, knowledge and abilities required to perform the work.

It Would Be Great if You Also Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in facilities management, recreation management, business, or public administration.
- Experience in
- Public sector facility management.
- Large scale special events coordination.
- ActiveNet Software or other registration software.
Working Conditions:
- Remote and Onsite Work Details: Employees in this role work remotely from a home location, with onsite reporting requirements typically 2-3 times per week. The frequency of onsite work is determined by business needs and may be adjusted accordingly. Onsite reporting locations may be at various King County worksites including the collaboration space at King Street Center (201 S. Jackson St, Seattle, WA 98104). This work arrangement promotes work-life-balance and reduces carbon footprint under the department’s vision of Green Where We Work.
- Remote Work Location Requirement: Employees must reside in Washington State and be within a reasonable distance to King County worksites to meet onsite reporting requirements.
- Work Schedule: This position is exempt from the overtime provision of the Fair Labor Standard Act (FLSA) and is not overtime eligible.
- Union Representation: This position is not represented by a union.
