Location: Jacksonville, FL (Remote)

Duration: 7 months

 

Job Description:

The Experience Designer will lead experience strategy, information architecture development, and interaction design to create breakthrough innovative solutions. Experience/Interaction Designers Client, understand, and communicate the business requirements to our partners, the emotional desires of our customers, and the context in which these two come together. This is a truly entrepreneurial role. You will be the primary Experience/Interaction designer in a multidisciplinary fast-paced team to frame an opportunity area and take the project from identifying customer and business needs to tangible customer-validated prototypes/MVPs with a viable business model ready to launch the solution into market. Think: a startup mentality within a national enterprise!

This role will provide the visual design aspects (e.g., visualization of the concepts/prototypes, UI development) and visual design support to the Venture Design Sr. Designer.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead all the visual design aspects of the project, including prototype creation – and have strong upstream skills to support the Venture Design Senior Designer in carrying out design research and synthesis
    • The key team member who will bring expertise in conceiving and visualizing solutions, and lead all the visual aspects of the project
    • Interface with customers to conduct design research and testing
    • Strong visual design with prototyping skills is a must

 

Specifics:

  • Partner closely with the Venture Design Sr. Designer, providing all necessary visual design and prototype development support
  • Develop design research assets
  • Uncover Insights
    • Conduct design research sessions with customers on a variety of topics (including sensitive healthcare topics)
  • Synthesize learnings
    • Support synthesis of large amounts of complex information to uncover insights about beliefs, behaviors, pain points, and systems
    • Lead visual design of artifacts, such as journey maps, personas, archetypes, etc.
    • Package insights into effective communications, including visual frameworks
  • Idea Generation
    • Creative and out-of-the-box thinking / innovative ideas. Ability to see non-obvious opportunities, generate compelling creative solutions
  • Concepting and early prototype development.
    • Translate ideas into concept sketches that can be tested with customers for desirability
    • Facilitate small groups with customers and stakeholders to generate and evolve concepts
    • Lead the creation of low-fidelity and medium-fidelity prototypes that can effectively test value proposition and solution usability. Utilize pattern libraries as needed to prepare prototypes
  • Prototype testing
    • Conduct prototype testing with customers
    • Iterate prototypes based on customer feedback
  • Product articulation
    • Communicate solution requirements to development teams and interface with IT for architecture needs
  • Experimentation
    • Partner with experimentation team to support development of materials for testing solutions
  • Communication, cross-functional team collaboration, and project management
  • Strong communication skills
    • Produce effective presentation decks
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with activities and deliverables with a rapid turnaround.
  • Ability to manage time and tasks to balance design process and timelines.

 

Required Experience/Education and Skills:

  • Education: BA/BS or equivalent
  • Experience: 6+ years
  • Strong experience in leading site user experience design and architecture development and adaptation for an established digital experience with major site development projects
  • Demonstrated ability to design digital products that have lasting market success
  • Track record of systems thinking and designing end-to-end solutions that successfully integrate with existing processes
  • Expertise designing across platforms (desktop, mobile and tablet)
  • Expertly skilled with relevant design software packages such as Adobe Creative Suite, Adobe XD, Sketch, Axure, InVision, Figma
  • Expert knowledge of information organization
  • Strong process development skills
  • Strong visual and graphic design skills
  • Knowledge of capabilities and limitations of Native app and web technologies such as HTML, JavaScript, and CSS
  • Ability to prioritize and adhere to deadlines while managing multiple projects and complex processes
  • Ability to communicate clearly, persuasively, and diplomatically to a wide range of audiences
  • Ability to conceptualize the opportunities/uses of new technology with the context of business and customer needs
  • Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality work in a dynamic, fast-paced, changing business environment. Experience in startups/early-stage companies preferred
  • A track record of generating elegant, innovative, and compelling solutions to solve customer pain points and business needs
  • Ability to think conceptually and analytically

 

Preferred:

  • Masters in a Design Discipline
  • Experience with healthcare space

 

General Physical Demands:

Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally to move objects. Jobs are sedentary if traversing activities are required only occasionally.
