As a member of the IT Department, this position is accountable for the following:
- Works within the Data & Information Management team who are responsible for performing data analytics, building and maintaining integrations, reports, alerts and supporting the NLC’s mature data pillar;
- Clarifies business requirements with clients and challenges as necessary to ensure workable and optimum solutions are designed, agreed, and signed off;
- Analyses and assesses dependencies and the impact of proposed changes on existing and planned applications architecture;
- Prepares work estimates, plans, and schedules;
- Participates in project review to ensure that requirements are fully understood;
- Performs SQL Server installations, configurations, optimizations, security configuration and backups;
- Codes additional functionality according to business requirements and creates scripts, tables, views, and procedures;
- Creates and maintains application integrations as required;
- Designs and produces forms and reports as required;
- Contributes to best practice and provides input to policy, standard, and methodology development as required;
- Ensures all unit or system testing is adequate and reviewed with users;
- Works with third party vendors to develop solutions that meet the technical, functional and business requirements outlined by the Data & Information Management team;
- Works with Technical Designers to ensure all applications are architected to meet NLC data standards;
- Provides leadership, guidance and mentoring to junior resources in defining, implementing, and enforcing standards and ensuring they are inline with departmental priorities;
- As part of a group, provides end to end rotation support for production environments including after hours on-call rotation duties.
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- Two (2) – Three (3) year specialized Post-Secondary Diploma in Computer Studies or Information Technology.
- Four (4) to Five (5) years business analysis experience;
- Five (5) – Seven (7) years experience with SQL Server and Microsoft Business Intelligence stack (SSAS, SSIS, SSRS);
- Knowledge of Online Transactional Processing (OLTP) or Data Warehouse (OLAP) databases;
- Working knowledge with Dashboards, data mining, and visualization tools would be an asset;
- Proven experience in researching products, solutions, and best practices within specified functional areas;
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex data issues correctly and clearly to both internal and external partners;
- Experience with system integration, system planning, security and software management best practices;
- Experience with development of application, data and infrastructure architecture deliverables;
- Effective verbal and written communications skills;
- Broad knowledge of business/industry operations, business practices and methodologies such as Retail, Purchasing, Supply Chain;
- Proven analytical, creative problem solving and collaborative decision making abilities;
- Excellent time management skills;
- Strong interpersonal, communication, customer service and consulting skills;
- Knowledge of SharePoint, Web/Application Development and/or Business Collaboration tools would be considered an asset.

Salary: CG39: $65,065.00 – $72,818.20 Annually
