Our Challenge
We are looking for a Business Manager to join NCDOT’s Office of Civil Rights (OCR) team. This is your chance to use your business talents to make a difference in North Carolina!
In this role, you will:
- Provide advanced financial, management, and administrative support managing our daily office operations, including assets, financial management, budget, procurement activities, annual reports, and support staff.
- Lead the administration of our civil rights programs and address our most complex financial challenges requiring gathering financial data, financial analysis, taking action, and making recommendations for actions.
- Coordinate strategies, programs, and activities with our Deputy Director, Director, and NCDOT business units.
- Be a major participant in making business decisions determining how NCDOT’s existing needs and future programs will be managed.
- Ensure the integrity of our processes related to our financial management.
- Provide training and outreach to staff and stakeholders.
What You Bring
- Knowledge of NCDOT’s business and financial processes, statutes, rules, regulations, and Federal requirements relating to financial management.
- Thorough knowledge of fiscal/budgetary theories and methodology, Federal/State policies, and NCDOT rules and regulations.
- Deep experience consulting with internal and external program stakeholders to the Office of Civil Rights and HBCU
- Considerable financial skills in program data and trend analysis and interpretation.
- Experience supervising 3+ employees in a related role.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, finance, or a related area, and
- 3+ years relevant experience, and
- 2+ years of supervisory experience; or
- An equivalent combination of training and experience.
