The Opportunity

Adnodd is a new company created by Welsh Government to secure bilingual educational resources for learners and teachers in Wales. Adnodd’s vision is for all learners and practitioners to have access to engaging, high-quality and innovative educational resources, in Cymraeg and English, that support the Curriculum for Wales and enable rich learning and teaching.

Adnodd is currently in a start-up phase of activity. The newly appointed Chief Executive is working with small set-up team and exclusive recruitment partner, Yolk Recruitment, to develop the company’s staffing structure and corporate capability, while also delivering key operational priorities. Adnodd aims to be fully staffed and established by the end of 2024.

Yolk Recruitment is supporting Adnodd to recruit a Business Manager on a 6m Fixed Term Contract to support the organisation to navigate the challenges of start-up phase to becoming a fully operational organisation. This is an opportunity for a seasoned business manager to make a huge impact through establishing and implementing effective corporate services and processes.

The Role

This is a broad business management opportunity encompassing:

Budget planning and delivery
Risk management
Contract management
Corporate governance & reporting

Requirements

The successful applicant will bring a well-rounded, experienced operator mindset to address the breadth of this role.

Proven experience in business management and delivery in public sector, education or related sectors – ideally within a start-up organisation.
Intermediate Welsh is essential – able to understand simple spoken and written Welsh and comfortable working bilingually
Demonstrable experience of successfully shaping and delivering business plans and navigating challenges, particularly during periods of change or growth
Experience of effectively managing contractual relationships and suppliers.
Sound understanding of corporate and operational risk and management of financial processes.
Sleeves rolled-up approach and a can-do attitude

Reward

Salary of £40,000 – £50,000 depending on experience

Annual leave of 30 days + public holidays

Civil service pension
