BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER – CENTRAL EUROPE
Summary
Therakos is a specialty brand of Mallinckrodt – a global business that develops, manufactures, markets and distributes specialty pharmaceutical products and therapies. For over 30 years, we have played a pioneering role in advancing the science of immunotherapy delivered through extracorporeal photopheresis (ECP).
The role of Business Development Manager has a unique dual purpose to achieve the most impact in the market:
Sales – Acquiring new clients in areas in which ECP has not been used yet or very little by utilising clinical selling skills to explain and present clinical data to target customers.
Strategy – Analysing the market and introducing new indications with the support of a cross functional team (Market Access, HEOR, Medical Affairs). Establish region-wide contact with top Reference Centre customers to capture, explore and develop significant strategic growth opportunities in the target markets, especially within kidney transplantation.
Essential Functions
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Use so far existing data to acquire new customers and build a relevant network of product champions
- Identify, develop and manage new KOL networks
- Introduction and development of new disease areas for future commercial success
- Develop and implement business case models
- Align new disease areas cross-functionally and internationally within International group
- Organize and attend relevant conferences, seminars and industry meetings to continually enhance market and industry knowledge
- Develop a close relationship with the German sales team and the cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and execution of the developed plan
- Partner with Research, Field Technical Support, Clinical and Scientific Development and other departments to meet company goals
- Define strategic development plans for accounts and regions to enhance the usage of the therapy in Kidney
Minimum Requirements
Education / Experience / Skills:
- Degree BSc. in life-science or related areas
- Minimum of 1-3 years experience in commercial or marketing functions in healthcare
- Excellent understanding of healthcare market in the region – good existing network is helpful
- Excellent German language skills both written and spoken as well as good English language skills, both written and spoken
- Proven ability to discuss medical and scientific data
- Ability to do clinical selling and follow a patient centric approach
- Willingness to travel significantly
- Enthusiastic, dedicated and can-do approach to work
- Proactive attitude and open to building a new network with new stakeholders
- Ability to operate in a diverse and international work environment
- Strong communication skills, together with confidence to work with senior management level
- Ability to think strategically and show strong operational capabilities at the same time.
- Ability to connect, engage and successfully work without formal authority with a diverse group of business stakeholders
- Driven by results, performance & operational excellence in the job
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a remote team
Organizational Relationship/Scope:
The position reports to the Manager Sales Management and has no direct reports. The position works closely with all company functions across different countries and cultures e. g. Sales, Medical Affairs, Marketing, Market Access, HEOR, Customer Service, Clinical Service, Technical Service, Finance).
Working Conditions:
The Market Development Manager DACH is field based/home office, ideally in Germany with good connections to travel across the DACH region and internationally. The incumbent will be required to travel significantly regionally and internationally (up to 80%).
