Full-Time Business Development Manager

Job Description

We, at Leggett & Platt Inc., are searching for a Business Development Manager – Southern region within our Sales team to help support our Aerospace  business.  At L&P Aerospace, we specialize in creating complex tube and duct assemblies using high-performance materials capable of withstanding extreme pressure, temperature, and chemical interactions.  How high are our quality standards, you ask?  So much so, that we have products on-board the Space Launch System with NASA, as well as the F-15 and F-35 fighter jets!  If you join our team, your work will ensure families across the world fly a little safer, wherever their travels may take them.

As a Business Development Manager you will have the opportunity to build the Aerospace customer business base.  You will be responsible for growing our business in the southern region of the United States. The team you will be working with is eager to grow a new team member’s skills, and values hard work and collaboration.

So, what will you be doing as a Business Development Manager?

  • Developing and executing regional growth plans
  • Overseeing and managing customer expectations
  • Building relationships with major aerospace customers in the region, with a focus on securing new business at new accounts
  • Providing accurate new business opportunity forecasts
  • Conducting sales analysis to increase business growth for the company
  • Working side by side with branch sales teams to build sales territories while cultivating strategic relationships with current key customers
  • Maintaining up to date knowledge of industry trends and developments that affect current customers, identify opportunities and target markets

 

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of aerospace sales experience
  • Experience in aerospace tubes, ducting and fabrication preferred.
  • Proven sales and marketing success
  • Willingness to travel 60-80%

 

Important skills:

  • Product knowledge in aircraft systems – specifically tubing, ducting, metal forming, and fabrication
  • Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written
  • Superior interpersonal skills with ability to build relationships with customers
