Carrier Fire & Security, the world’s largest manufacturer of fire safety products, is seeking a Business Analyst for its Kidde Fire Systems business in Ashland, MA! Kidde Fire Systems provides fire suppression solutions that protect people and property from the effects of fire. Since 1917, industry leaders and the military have relied on Kidde Fire Systems to deliver outstanding fire detection, control and suppression for their mission-critical applications.
The Market & Pricing Analyst (analyst) will be the interface between the business’s commercial needs, the ERP system, and the Customer Extranet platform. The analyst manages the product pricing process and customer-facing price lists and makes recommendations based on margin and volume analyses. The analyst owns the customer sales data and is responsible for generating dashboards and detailed reports. Key parts of the role include driving efficiencies, CRM implementation interface, and external market data integration. A continuous improvement mindset and strategic vision for the evolution of processes and tools will be required. The analyst will support transformation efforts for the long-term continued development and growth of the Kidde Fire Systems business.
This position reports directly to the Director, Product Management & Strategy, Kidde Fire Systems, and collaborates with the full spectrum of Kidde Fire Systems leaders, including IT, customer service, operations, finance, engineering, and supply chain. Although primarily responsible for Kidde Fire Systems, the analyst will also support the Fenwal Controls and Marioff North America businesses housed in the same Ashland facility on an as-needed / part-time basis.
Specific responsibilities for this position include:
- Ensure accuracy and timely updates of customer data, customer product access, customer discounts, product pricing, and alignment with the JD Edwards ERP system and the MyEddie extranet platform
- Manage company product pricing at part number level for customers by analyzing costs and using input from product line managers.
- Perform periodic margin analysis on sales orders and implement tools and changes to prevent leakage
- Perform customer level margin and sales analysis against targets and recommend annual discounts and product access
- Manage SKU reduction process at the front end and provide input to Operations and Planning for back-end coordination
- Extract customer and sales data for periodic and episodic distribution to key stakeholders
- Create and circulate standard work documents to ensure consistent outputs for processes – both frequently and infrequently used.
- Analyze current pricing, discounting, and approval processes and recommend and implement standardization, automation, and new tools wherever possible and required
- Create dashboards and reports for daily, monthly, and quarterly periodic bookings and sales by product, product type, customer, customer type, country, region, segment, etc. Generate trend-charts/visualization, draw conclusions and make projections for management review
- Identify and represent the needs of the Commercial team with the requirements and implementation teams deploying new CRM, eCommerce, and eBilling tools.
- Identify leading and lagging indicator indices and integrate those and regional GDPs into sales forecasting to guide demand forecasting models.
- Integrate external market analyst data on segment size into sales history and provide a periodic share of segment estimates
- Inculcate the use of Carrier Excellence (CE) tools, including VSM, Kaizen, Process Maps, and RAILs, to drive positive change
- Assist with maintaining a safe working environment for all
- Meet and exceed the organization’s KPIs and align with organizational strategies
Required Experience:
- Degree in Data Sciences / Data Analytics – BS with 7+ years’ experience or MS/MBA with 3+ years’ experience
- Experience in the manufacturing sector with direct/indirect sales channel required
- Experience with reading, writing, analyzing, and interpreting product information
- The high degree of proficiency with Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, PowerPoint
- Experience with ERP systems (JD Edwards, SAP, Oracle, others), Query tools, CRM tools (SalesForce DC, others), eCommerce/electronic order entry platforms, analysis/visualization tools (PowerBI, others)
- Ability to present reports, conclusions, and recommendations in a clear, concise, and unambiguous manner, both orally and visually
Preferred Experience:
- Proficient working knowledge of customer services, products, global markets and segments, distribution models, demand planning, and replenishment
