Full-Time Technical Operator

Job Description

We are looking for a motivated individual who is happy to work from our office in Liverpool City Centre to join our Digital Media Team as a Senior Specialist, Technical Operator. In this varied role where no two days are the same, you will be responsible for the set up and operation of specialist broadcast equipment within LFCTV studio and Media Department facilities together with the supervision of playout services for 24/7 LFCTV Channel transmissions across Domestic and International markets, live streams across our OTT platform and social media channels.

What will you be doing?

-Supervision and management of LFCTV Domestic and International Channel Playout transmissions, to ensure OFCOM regulations of commercial content are adhered to, file formats and content are correct through QC processes, schedules are accurate and all signals leaving MCR (Master Control Room) are compliant with broadcast standards. Perform Disaster Recovery procedures when required to ensure any loss of service impact remains minimal and clients are updated on incident status
-Set up and preparation of specialist gallery equipment for live and pre-recorded studio productions, including VT operations, production graphics, sound operations, ingest systems, camera operation, Lighting control, signal routing and encoder operations.
-Technical Operation of specialist broadcast equipment during live and pre-recorded LFCTV programming in accordance with production requirements, including sound operations, production graphics, VT operations, Ingest systems and camera operation.
-Assisting with set up, rig and preparation of all studio floor requirements for live and pre-recorded productions, including set equipment and layout, rigging, lighting and cable management.
-Preparing and operating streaming encoders for all requirements of Digital Media (Channel assignment, Stream Key input, source and destination signal routing).
-Operating on Outside Broadcast productions for live match coverage when required.
-Completion of daily studio checklists to ensure issues are identified, flagged and followed up effectively.

Who are we looking for?We are looking for a candidate to join our team who has:

-Excellent knowledge of studio and gallery hardware and software technologies
-Is familiar with current sports production formats and requirements
-A thorough understanding of transmission systems and signal chains including Disaster Recovery protocols and escalation procedures
-Strong awareness of Ofcom commercial Broadcast regulations and compliance
-Awareness of Ip/Cloud based production tools.
-Qualification in broadcast or A/V media related technologies, HND or higher
-Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
-Willingness to multi-task and learn multiple skill sets and adapt to fast changing production requirements
-Ability to operate well within a team
-Ability to work under pressure within a live broadcast and transmission environment
-Willingness to work unsociable hours and flexible working patterns

The role also has a number of Financial Measures:

-Multi-task skill sets providing an effective coverage of roles and reducing reliance on external/free-lance staffing requirements and associated costs
-Ensuring effective pro-active monitoring of LFCTV Channel Playout services to ensure compliance with broadcast standards and regulations.
-Providing effective operational support across all studio areas to allow delivery of studio-based programming
