Overall Responsibilities

Reporting to the Senior Marketing Director, Specialty Brands, Canada B.U., the Brand Manager, Progressive is responsible for delivering end to end plans and execution that results in the Progressive brand consistently delivering its sales, profit, market share, and customer ranking goals.  The Brand Manager, Progressive plays a key role in driving their brand to best-in-class performance behind “General Manager mindset” leadership.  This position is responsible for the management of all brand activity within the Canadian market and is expected to help drive profit and revenue growth through industry-leading new product introductions, marketing execution, trade integration and financial management. For this role, you will collaborate with various internal teams to conduct market and competitive analyses, design promotional campaigns, and develop profitable positioning and pricing strategies.

 

Specific Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Develop; adapt; refine a 5-years long range plan (LRP) for assigned brand in Canada.
  • Build and implement an annual operating plan (AOP) for assigned brand that brings to life the 5-years strategy and achieves aligned objectives and targets via a cross-functional team.
  • Use quarterly planning cycles to ensure brand plans and commercial execution is delivering against objectives and achieve sales, profit, market share, and brand equity targets.
  • Lead product strategy development for the assigned brand portfolio, ensuring that insights and data are utilized to form compelling business cases that clearly identify consumer need, product reason to believe, communications strategy (if relevant), competitive assessment, and sales & profit potential.
  • Build and execute ongoing reporting mechanisms that showcase sell-in, sell-on, and sell-out metrics.
  • Conduct ongoing SKU management process in partnership with Sales, S&T and Operations.
  • Own and track the delivery of the P&L for the assigned, including proper oversight over spending and ROI (return on investment).
  • Ensure compliance with all Jamieson and Canadian regulatory standards and requirements.
  • Lead the selection and execution of the best media mix to achieve brand awareness and financial targets.
  • Lead the development of creative strategy, copy development and in-market execution
  • Develop pricing and distribution strategies
  • Identify trade needs and opportunities, working closely with the commercial strategy and sales team
  • Act as a representative of the brand in professional settings

  • Net sales for area of responsibility.
  • Trade and marketing spending to budget for area of responsibility.
  • EBITDA for area of responsibility.
  • Brand equity growth.
  • Market share growth.

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Requirements

  • College or University Business Degree; MBA an asset
  • Three to five (3-5) years marketing experience within a consumer-packaged goods environment
  • Strong business acumen and track record of over-delivering results
  • Experience in developing breakthrough consumer connections and communications
  • Excellent time management/project management skills (ability to multitask and manage competing deadlines and multiple stakeholders demands)
  • A team player who can inspire and lead a cross-functional team
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • An entrepreneurial and creative spirit with the ability to deliver solutions if process is absent
  • A strong passion for improving the world’s Health & Wellness
  • Experience in health and wellness industry is considered an asset
