Full-Time Branch Manager

Job Description

We, at Leggett & Platt Inc., are searching for a Branch Manager within our High Point, North Carolina operation to help support our Home Furniture business.  In our Furniture Components business, we design, manufacture, and distribute a wide range of components and finished products that enhance comfort, motion, and style in the work and home furniture industry.  From surface-critical bent tube assemblies and molded plywood components to chair mechanisms, bases, arms, seats, and backs, our Furniture Components business brings diverse world-class manufacturing capabilities together in the production and assembly of high-quality products.  If you join our team, your work will ensure people across the world have a little more comfort in their lives.

As a Branch Manager, you will have the opportunity to make a lasting mark by addressing key challenges within the operation.  Your contributions will have a direct impact on the business by increasing profitability, reducing turnover, and improving employee morale.  The team you will be working with is dedicated, eager to grow and values a leader with strategic vision with the ability to execute.

So, what will you be doing as a Branch Manager?

  • Full P&L responsibility: Review income statement, analyze variances, and initiate plans to address problem areas
  • Partner with the Sales team to support and manage customer relationships
  • Manage effectiveness of the operations, to include staffing levels, production scheduling, minimizing scrap, improving quality, and ensuring on-time delivery.
  • Oversee operations, and partner with leaders in HR, Quality, Customer Service, Engineering, and Accounting
  • Manage and direct all aspects of the branch and help provide the tools to succeed in a profitable and safe manner.
  • Recruit, develop, and succession plan to positively effect retention
  • Maintain quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards
  • Follow all company administrative policies and procedures as required
  • Ensure compliance with applicable governmental/corporate regulations related business activities and environmental, health and safety
  • Develop and implement procedures and processes to improve productivity

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required.
  • At least 5 years of manufacturing and/or warehousing management experience, including P&L
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
